[Art] Setsumi's Miniatures!

All of which suck, I'll have you know. Most of these will be Warhammer, some of them will be Anima, and if I start any other tabletops they'll probably go here too.
So, starting off with the six I did yesterday, and roughly three and a half hours apiece.

From left to right, two Sternguard Veterans, Annihilator-pattern Predator, Logan Grimnar (in my colors, of course), and two more Sternguard Veterans.

http://i.imgur.com/AOVYS.jpg - Lorenzo, also from Anima. Yes he has a mechanical arm. He tosses people around with it.
http://i.imgur.com/9fsjq.jpg - A better picture of Logan.
http://i.imgur.com/rncFf.jpg - Kujaku-hime, again from Anima. I suck at painting people did you know that?
http://i.imgur.com/64y70.jpg - Takanosuke, the 'guardian' of Kujaku-hime, again from Anima. Yes he is a ninja with an eyepatch.

Lesson of the day: I suck at faces. =x=

http://i.imgur.com/rVfjh.jpg - My Chapter Master finally got painted. Yay for crappy cameras.
http://i.imgur.com/NX578.jpg - Took a Heavy Bolter off the Attack Bike kit and put it on this guy for a free extra Devastator Marine. Might get some use out of him today.

I can see that you need to apply the advice for all beginners: Thin your paints, sharpen your camera.

It takes some experience, but you will want to apply just as much color as you need in a given moment. The basics to this is to thin your paints with water to achieve the right viscosity. First dip your brush quickly in water and tap it so you don't have a big blob of water on. Then mix up your color with water on a palette until it's smooth. Don't use color directly from the can. It's better to use several thin layers to cover than one thick. Experiment until you find a good mix.

I've been painting minis for around 18 years, so you can ask me anything if you like. But I need good photos to pinpoint where you need work.

And there it is; finally got told to thin my paints. I knew it'd happen eventually.
That said, don't think I'm not grateful for the advice, and I'll try to take it into account next time I pick up the brush. I'm trying to get an actual camera instead of having to settle for the one on my phone, but there's only so much I can do right now.

Yeah well, better sooner than later :p
It makes it easier to paint, too.
