I do play flute just not very well nor do I own one :V

My recommendation is to hook up a solo instrument + piano/geetar and make a proof of concept before having a dozen tracks to combine. Which you have enough volunteers of right now!

Well you could use a drum machine. You can set up a Jazz drum set sound in Garageband.

I can play drums quite proficiently. The problem I have is that I don't have proper recording equipment. Trying to record percussion instruments without the right equipment makes it sound reaaaally bad.

I also have available access to a vibraphone. If you need a vibraphone player, I'll be more than happy to contribute.

@Watermelonz: Hmm...is there any place you can go to record properly, or anything like that? I do know that recording algorithms ARE hard on percussion, so I understand the need for good equipment.

I once tried playing with someone over skype
it failed horribly. even a few milliseconds of lag can make stuff sound like crap...

Yeah. I think the Skype idea is out. We're basically going to have to draft music and record tracks over each other. It's suboptimal, but still workable, I think. I want to test with Fightest though.

The problem with doing it all separately is it's harder to sync well. You at least need SOMETHING to keep rhythm, at least I would think. So what I'm thinking is building on top of each other. Starting with the rhythmy sections, and then putting the melodic parts on top. Actually, a fused approach could work as well. Basically having everyone record over the completed rhythm track, and then pulling out the melody tracks and putting it all together that way, so everyone is on the same beat but not having to fight with other tracks...or something like that.

I think it could work like that.

Just make sure you keep backups of the separate tracks if you want to build the song as it moves along, in case of an accident.

I do have a Audio Station that allows me to hook up instruments and run it through my computer.

It might get a cleaner sound, I suppose.

Alright, here's a second set. I'm suffering imagination fail at the moment, so I can't think of a way I can make a third less-featured-than-the-first-one set without it being functionally identical to the second one. UK, any tips?
