VOCALOID music thread
« on: October 24, 2010, 01:44:04 AM »
This thread is about VOCALOID songs, as opposed to it's fandom elements. Talk about bitchin' awesome VOCALOID songs and share them with others here.

Now about some stuff I'm looking for in particular. While I've always been quite immersed in the affairs related to Touhou, for Vocaloid I've always felt like I've been just one room over from where all the good stuff is happening. Most of the songs I know are just the ones that get cross contaminated with Touhou like Poppipo or the really popular ones like Black Rock Shooter and The World is Mine. Then I occasionally run into awesome songs like this or this and I'm left wondering about many things, as my knowledge of thier origins and artists and other trivia are only on a level of comprehention as CNN's understanding of Bad Apple.

So basically what I want to know is what's good in the VOCALOID world. Good songs, good artists, good PVs, thier history, thier popularity, whatever you guys got.

So bring on the Miku! ;)

I love this song.
It's not Miku though.

I like Melt, but before about 2 weeks ago my exposure to Vocaloid songs was minimal at best.  Once I started playing Project Diva I became more interested.  I'm still pretty much only listening to the stuff from the arcade game, but there's some good stuff out there.

7 Vocaloid chorus Bad Apple!! just wins on so many levels to me. Though I'm not very fond of Gumi for some reason. Not sure why though.

Miku is too high pitch for me, but I really like the songs that are written for her.

Here's a short list of songs I got: (Random selection) (The songs from Re: Packaged need their ID3 tags fixed, but you can check the track listing online. I own both CDs.)

Also, ELECTROCUTICA has two albums that have Hatsune Miku in them. They make incredible music that almost beats everything I got on this list.

I love those as much as I like the originals. Especially the NNC version of Rin's Meltdown.

Btw, Luka would be my fave Vocaloid. I love her voice and she can also sing screamo metal! :3
They think I'll think that they'll do (A) so they'll do (B) because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because they might think I know what they're thinking they'll do (A) after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way.

I recently decided I like the song 1925
Here's the PV.
It's been done by others besides Miku as well.
Take me on a rocket ride.

I like Luka, but more so for other reasons.
Just be Friends is a very nice demo of her voice, but when AVTechNO! touched it, she becomes my electronic sexbomb.

For a while, looking at the title I see her walking a long stretch of beach, just singing...

I like Luka, but more so for other reasons.
Just be Friends is a very nice demo of her voice, but when AVTechNO! touched it, she becomes my electronic sexbomb.
Hooray, more Luka lovers~
My favourite Luka songs would be Tower and Palette. She sounds almost human in Tower, and Palette is just stunningly beautiful.
I like Miku, too, but more when she uses her lower range than her higher range, like in ARiA and her cover of Uninstall.
Rin and Gumi, not really a fan of. Sorry, Rin and Gumi fans.
They think I'll think that they'll do (A) so they'll do (B) because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because they might think I know what they're thinking they'll do (A) after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way.

Ah yes, Vocaloid... Where to begin...

Everything by CosMo. Division->Destruction and Singing Passion are my favourite. He's more known for Disappearance, though.

Also need to mention Sasaruke P. Gumi's "Our 16 Bit Warz" is my favourite. His signature song is Hello, Planet, and he has also produced many other neat chiptunish songs as well: This Weekend's Coming!, Wanderlast.

I wonder if anyone knows the true meaning of the last song in Nanairo?

Let's discuss the Daughter of Evil series. In a word, awesome. The plot is amazing and the side stories for each of the characters add a whole new depth to it, especially Daughter of White. In fact, I am in the middle of writing a story adaptation of it.

I think Miku's best range was when she sang Last Night, Good Night.

She was fantastic in that song./

Used to like Vocaloid songs more, but now a lot of them just seem to be generic Japanese songs.

Every once and a while I find something I enjoy though.
