Free-Track optical motion tracking.

Free-Track is an optical motion tracking software that can use a webcam to track infra-red LEDs mounted on a headset or clip to use head movement to control games.
It's a nice alternative to TrackIR for the do-it-yourselfers out there.

For years, optical tracking of this kind has been very popular among Flight-Sim and Vehicle-Sim fans for controlling head motion in-game, but has been relatively unknown outside those genres.
However, some have found uses for it in other types of games as well, such as mounting LEDs on objects rather than headsets to use as makeshift motion controllers for First Person Shooters as well as other games.

(note that small movements are translated into larger movements so your eyes never leave the screen)

I'm currently putting together a new headset so I thought it would be neat to post about this neat gadget.

I'll come up with an evil scheme later. First, it's time to build a giant robot!

You can't have a good evil scheme without a giant robot!
