It took me 8 lives in stock to defeat Byakuren during my first UFO normal 1CC.  Oh yeah, I died twice on her opener for some unknown reason.

* I have not yet cleared anything on Normal.  (Working on it though; stage 5!!)

* Thus, I have never earned (and thus never cleared) any Extra Stages.

* If a run is not headed toward a 1cc in the first place, continuing with 2 lives is currently not enough for me to kill a final boss in a garbage run, so I usually don't bother continuing, ever, for that reason.  (I pick someone else if I wanna try again, or play a different game.)

* Shou's/Byakuren's curvy lasers.  As much as I love UFO (and straight lasers),  lasers should not work these ways.

I can rarely progress past stage 3 in any game on normal mode without continues, excluding StB and PoFV types. On MOF, UFO, and SA, I can't get past stage 2.

Stay low on the screen, just above the very bottom of the playing field. You'll be amazed how the card suddenly becomes incredibly easy :V

I can have max lives by Stage 4 of PCB. I might lose a few to Prismrivers. By the time I'm starting Stage 6, I'm down to 0~1 lives. *cough* I really hate Youmu.
