Anime North 2010 - Touhou Panel!

You can get your pass before the convention even opens its events.
The line up for passes starts at 1PM, and the events don't start until 4PM, mostly.
And then the panel, which is at 5PM, a good ways away.

#2 Says you don't need to 'register' in particular for it. But you do need a valid AN membership pass.
So I guess you do... but, hey, who'd be monitoring? The only thing I saw them carefully monitoring last year was the Dealer's Room, where you needed to show your pass when you entered and left.

Do I need a pass to get in the panel? Since it's right at the start of AN, I was thinking it might be better for me timewise to go to the panel, then go get my pass.

As it is an AN event, yes, you're supposed to get your pass first.  That said, I doubt any of the panelists are so anal to check to see if people have them or not (we're generally more worried about saying something incredibly stupid in front of a live audience).

That said, higher ups may be by to see how the panel is going and how the attendance is (usually used as a gauge for whether to have the panel again in the future) and if they happen to notice people without passes, they'll likely be less forgiving about it, but I don't expect them to be actively checking for passes either.

As Chibity mentioned, you can show up early to pick up your pass, or if you have pre-registered, you can go on Thursday evening to get it ahead of time.

The main panelists for Touhou consists of PN, Gpop, me and a friend.
However, I'm hardcore into the games themselves so don't expect me to add much discussion into the memes and stuff. If anything, I'll probably add the least to the discussion.  :blush:

Also, since I'm one of the core staffs for AN's gaming section, expect me to go in and out if I get called by one of the higher-ups of AN. That being said, I hope this panel's first debut becomes a blast and I expect the room to be completely bombarded.

If you want to talk gameplay, come out and talk gameplay.  The panel is for the audience, and if that's what the audience wants to talk about, that's what we'll talk about.  The last thing I want is for the 5 panelist to talk for 60 freakin' minutes, with everyone in the audience sitting on their hands; although if we have to, we will.

Khoa is our resident shmup expert, so yes, he'll have to talk gameplay.  That's why I recruited him in the first place.

If there are empty slots in most of the gaming schedule, us staff tend to just shove in arbitrary games in there just to 'look professional'.
If you really want your Bemani that much, I suppose I can bring in my FP7 and KOC to one of the Free Play slots (or the Overnight Gaming slots).
