>Look over to the southwest. Can we tell what Reimu is watching?

>"Oh, is that it?" says Reimu. The faerie on her lap burbles a happy noise. "Let me get those for you in a few minutes."
>Looking over, you seen out a kobito wearing a pink kimono, a few yards away. She staring down a crow that has settled into the grass, and approaching it step by step. "Have a seat," Reimu says.

> Float over for a seat.

>You have a seat on the porch. The faerie in Reimu's lap makes a sound you would expect from someone too drunk to walk.
>Watching, the kobito approaches, the bird, until she is nearly close enough to hug it. The crow turns its head sideways to watch her, then moves to peck her. The kobito lunges, wrapping her arms around the crow's neck. The bird cries out as and starts flapping its wings, as the kobito shouts with vigor, shimmying around its neck.
>"You know," Reimu says, "I've been thinking. Those little guys, the kobito? They're really going to be the future."

>"It'll be a bit cold," says Reimu as she reaches by the door to grab a teapot by the door, and a spare cup. Seems she expects guests these days. "And yeah. They're the one kind of youkai I don't think most people would be afraid of."
>As she speaks, the kobito kicks her way onto the bird's back and straddles its neck. The crow beats its wings, but isn't able to reach her.

>Reimu passes you your tea; it seems to be a simple green, probably unflavored.
>"Just watch, she's only starting up on that guy," says Reimu.
>As she speaks, the panicked crow takes flops its head around wildly, trying to shake off the kobito and failing. Then it starts to roll on the ground, and does press the kobito against the ground. For a moment, you're worried that she is in danger, before you remember that birds are fairly lightweight.
>"I mean, it's not going to happen overnight," says Reimu. "I doubt I'll be around to see it to the end. But, think about it. Kobito just aren't scary or threatening like other youkai are. And how do you think kids are going to see them?"

> What sustains us, and what would 'kill' us? Do we even know?

>You aren't sure what would kill you outside of an exorcism. Magic, almost certainly. You are semi-physical, but you don't think you can die from physical harm. However, you can certainly be harmed by physical harm, and you can black out. You don't need to eat or drink, but you like eating and drinking. It keeps you more connected to people around you, and tasting things is fun. You aren't sure about breathing, but it doesn't feel good to hold your breath.

>The tea is cold, but not bad.

> "But I do see your overall point, yeah."

>"And, there's got to be kobito out there that love children," Reimu says. "So what happens when they meet with human children? Well, some rockiness, but... you're going to get children who love kobito. And grow up to become adults who at least have some fond memories of them. And I think that'll be the key."
>The crow finally gives up trying to roll off its attacker, and takes to the air, perhaps hoping the speed and height may have an effect.
>"She's got him, now," Reimu says.

I tried to swim to the surface but before I could reach it I was back. You'd probably think it was some kind of vision, but when I reappeared, I was on the roof. And the horrible feeling hasn't gone away either."

>Reimu gives you a long, curious look. Then she nods. "That is weird," she says at length. "I don't think you're just slipping through the barrier or anything like that, there's nothing like what you described out there."

>"Let me think..." she says. "I'm going to assume its not the barrier, but maybe it's worth bothering Yukari about still? Um, hm. Maybe it's a dream kind of thing, is that's the case you might want to find Doremy Sweet? Mmm. Hm, well, it may be worth looking into asking Patchouli or Eirin about it, they both know a lot of things they shouldn't."

>Frown. "And though I'm a ghost, I can't phase through walls. The fact that I reappeared on the roof after swimming up in the water... it makes me wonder if someone witnessing it would just see me vanish into thin air and reappear shortly after."
