About Touhou's underworld (Metaphorically speaking)
« on: November 11, 2016, 01:10:03 PM »
Suppose Gensokyo is a small city.

Reimu is the lone old, hardboiled cop of the entire neighborhood.

The Moriya is the local vigilante .

The Buddism and Taoism are the old clan exist under the city.

The mountain youkai is the Yakuza, and the youkai are the local thug and riff-raff.

And Yukari is obviously the Grandfather/Mayor who manipulated them all .

What do you think the Mafia would look like in Gensokyo? And do you have other idea about the remaining?

Her job is like a cop though. And I think Marisa is the local handyman and mercenary, who she have a occasional bust with.

Edit: And please don't bring America politic in this thread. It get messy.

What about the actual underworld, aka the underground spirits, hell, etc?
Retired Touhou player. Not involved with anything Touhou anymore.

The underground isn't part of gensokyo, so that don't count. But I think that would be the Detroit next door. (if what I heard about it is true)

But, they seem more thug-ish than most criminals.....

Sakuya just like the right hand woman of a big name yakuza boss.

Sanae are idol, Kanako the manager & Suwako the agency.

Fightest and I used to have this running gag about Ran and Chen being buddy cops. Like Ran was the grizzled detective who once lost a partner and is "getting too old for this shit" and Chen was the clean-cut rookie with something to prove.

Man I miss Fightest.

That's kinda why I said she's a hardboiled cop. Her edge are rough so her way is rough and merciless.

And if you're talking Idol, isn't Mystia the Lorelei more fit? You know, as the singer that make the men blind. ;)

I don't have problem with Sakuya, though the boss is more Mafia than Yakuza...

Edit:
And when you think about it, Suika is that drunkard who managed to not die yet due to being a drunk-fu master.

Right, the noisy pink percher who is a friend with a green loud. I might as well have Raiko beat my eardrum.  :]
