A little while ago, Danbooru has finally reached the half a million Touhou image count on Danbooru, which to any Touhou fan knows is the go to place if you want to search for arts and other creative pieces of your favorite Touhou characters by a range of different artists and styles.
This completely dwarfs the 2nd biggest thing on Danbooru, Kantai Collection, which as of writing this sits at 170K uploads. Still a formidable amount but it barely rivals the amount of Touhou content that is currently on the site.
May this great rounded number stand as a testament of how big the Touhou fandom has become and how many talented and prolific artists this series has attracted to bring to us great works of art that are inspired by one mans great idea many years ago. Touhou truly is a wonderful thing that fosters great creative ideas and freedom to the artists that shape the world of Gensokyo both for themselves but also to us the observers of such art.
500K uploads truly is a monumental achievement for one small idea which really shows our strength in numbers and as a cultural phenomenon. Remember, Touhou is made as great as it is not just by one man who happens to drink a lot of beer, but also by us, the fans, who contribute and become creative when inspired by one mans idea. It is also us, at the ground level, that has also made Touhou great.

Remember, even if this website has on it currently 500K uploads, there is so much more content out there on the internet that is just waiting to be discovered. The number of artworks out there might be in the millions!
