Puzzle & Dragons is an iOS/android puzzle RPG.  It plays like a cross between Bejeweled and Pok?mon.  It's completely free to play, but has premium features through purchasable "magic stones," the game's premium currency (which can also be obtained frequently as rewards in-game), which allow for increased inventory, pulls from a rare egg machine, and more.  If you're patient enough the game gives you enough stones through special events and rewards that you shouldn't need to buy any.  (It's recommended you don't because most things can be obtained/beaten without spending money and some amount of patience and skill.)

You can control monsters from lowly slimes to even lowlier dragons to One-Winged Angels with Mommy Issues like Sephiroth (above).  They all have different stats and skills, allowing you to customize your team for any number of purposes.

Real talk though, the real reason to get into this game is because everyone else here is playing it and has been playing non-stop for the past 2 years :V , and probably won't stop for a long time thanks to the constant updates to the game and its mechanics, balance changes that never directly nerf anything and are mostly focused on increasing the viability of older monsters, and of course the endless addition of new monsters and collabs that are dished out on a regular basis.

If you're interested, there's a really useful database of monsters and game info here:

http://www.puzzledragonx.com/

A tip for new players: At the end of the tutorial the game will give you one free pull on the rare egg machine.  It's best to "scum" this pull and start over (by uninstalling and reinstalling) until you get something that's really rare (a god).  Great starters include any of the Chinese gods, Ares, Bastet, Isis, Verdandi, Lu Bu, Bastet, Odin, Kali, Shiva, Bastet, Sonia, and many others.  Feel free to ask!

If you need more help or just want to discuss the game, we also have a P&D channel on the MotK IRC network in here. Just type your name and go.
For those using IRC clients other than webchat, the channel is #puzzleandlibrarians on irc.ppirc.net.

Also there was a pretty huge rebalancing buff announced for JP so that's kinda cool too:

- Awoken Freyja announced, Devil/Attacker (3 rows, 1 TPAs)
- Skill Delay Resist Latent Tama announced, 30k MP
- Metalit and Dub-Metalit guerilla/urgent, skills up Chester and DMeta respectively
- Co-Op mode Alpha coming out for iOS
- "No Dupe" dungeons now exclude leaders (FINALLY)
- Lots of Rebalancing:

- LMeta gets a CD reduction, 6 -> 5
- DMeta gets a major buff: CD reduction 7 -> 5, LS can go up to 4x attack for ANY TYPE, no longer all-or-nothing HP-conditional, final numbers not yet announced
- GGY now unbindable, HP conditional active above 20% instead of 50%, Dragon type added
- RGY gets same buff, Balanced type added
- GZL is now 2.5x above 80% HP and 4x below 80%
- LZL is now 5x with full HP, 2.5x below full
- All Awoken Norse now get 2 turns of damage buff
- Satsuki now changes Jammers to Dark as well, is now Water/Jammer/Poison -> Dark
- Odin Dragon now removes ALL binds instead of 5 turns (good, he's marginally less shitty now)
- Gadius and Typhon both get -1 CD to skills and a 1 turn Haste
- Fairytale Girls now all unbindable, Snow White gets a water row
- Kotodama and Folklore now Machine type
- Pirate Zaerog gets Attacker type
- Samurai Zaerog and Z8 both get Devil type
- Mithril Edge gets Machine type
- Sherospada gets God type
- Hysferzen gets Devil type

The new Enhanced Heal Orb awakening is being given to the following, with stat boosts to replace the awakenings they lose in the process:
All Valkyries except Beach Claire
Awoken Ceres
Attacker Apollo
Healer Persephone
Super Ult Kushinada
Balanced Izanagi
All Awoken Norse
All of the Original Riders
All of the Sticker Girls
All of the Elementals
L/D Ra

Also according to PDX: "- Same sub-attribute added to most evolved gods. Romans, Japanese 1/2, Indian 1/2, Norse, Egyptian 1/2, Greek 2, Chinese, Heroes, Three Kingdom,"

???

I feel like they overhyped this one. It was really "we're gonna buff like 20 cards and add Heart OE Awakening support into the game."

meanwhile I'm still suffering through Zaerog Infinity for skillups

Things like this wouldn't happen if my friend LZL had more than 0 +Atk eggs.

Got a zero-stone, though, using LZL/Amy though?

I guess it's cool but unnecessary for Zaerog Infinity to get Devil typing? What are you going to do, use him as support on a Lu Bu team?

Alright, buffs to a bunch of stuff I play. I like it.

More Hallowrem foolishness:

-Izanami

PAD STOOOOOP. THAT'S FOUR NOW. GIMME T&S YOU MONSTERS.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm very happy about Descend Carnival. I held off on making a Tengu team and I'm glad. PAD loves eventually easy-moding restricted dungeons (see easy mode no dupes), so I'll get the clear when they change the restriction to 50 cost or less or some shit.t

The triple rows makes me incredibly happy.  I know wood's mainly about TPAs but I just really like the potential wood rows had had from my looking at what already existed, so them bringing em into VERY usable forms is quite satisfying.

...it might also be my lack of a lot of the big TPA cards(Parvati, Liuuu Bei, Bastet, Vishnu, etc), but I dunno.

I mean technically Liu Bei also has a row.

Awoken Norse buff both their main and sub-attribute colors, right? So would it be outlandish to field awoken I&I on a Byakko team to buff dark x2 for two turns?
Obvs Loki would be the ideal but he hasn't shown his face in my box yet.

Yes, and why not?  Just because it's strange doesn't mean it's wrong!  I mean, I like using Shinra Sun God Apollo for all-atts dungeons on Karin so...

Result of today's Zaerog Infinity farming.

A bunch of rank up experience. Surprisingly, you get about 50,000 exp per run, which is pretty damn good. Also contains a guaranteed Super King, some pengdras and of course a really unique fight.

Got two skillups over the course of today, which brings me up to 9 out of 11. Sweet deal.

I'm legit surprised at how effective LZL/Awoken Ammy is, though.

Oof, I guess I didn't realize just how tedious Awoken Susano is to make. Ultimate Goemon and Ultimate Tengu is a lot of materials to farm. Damn.

For all of the mountains of jewels I've got, I actually am finding myself running low on red jewels. I'm going to need three more for immediate projects (two for Susano, one for a second ultimate Izanami) and while I'm sure I have that many somewhere I think I'm going to have to blindly dig through mails to get them, and that's going to flood my box with other jewels that I don't care about.

Meanwhile, I really should start working on Awoken Orochi. Not because I have any particular plans for him (although I guess he technically could sub in for Sun Quan on Awoken Ra sometimes, but I'm not sure why I would do that) but because I need a way to burn of excess Bubpiis. I have nothing that I can really use them on and I'm starting to amass too many.
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

Awoken Orochi is a key c10 enabler in the future so there's no harm prepping for it. :V

So we got a new regular pantheon - Constellation Machines pantheon.

Their particular gimmick is to have 2 Heart OE, 2 Color OE and 2 SBR. The AS is to convert hearts + jammers + poisons to their main color and has Haste, it is very similar to Satsuki's AS.

R/L = Antares
B/G = Alresch
G/D = Spica
L/R = Pollux
D/B = Castor

Their LS = x4 ATK when matching exactly 5 enhanced orbs at once. They resist about 25% of all attribute except their main color.

I have heard conflicting reports amongst some people that it might just be one of the orbs at minimum like the other popcorn LSes, some say it's all five. All five would be extremely unwieldy, to say the least.

As for Volsungr, I'm torn. I think his debuff seriously limits his usefulness, but that aside he's fucking ace.
