Because a Google search has nothing about it.

How to Install Touhou Ultra Patches and Cheat Patches

1. Go to THIS PAGE.
1a. This is the page where you get all of the patches, .SSG files, and other stuff.
2. Scroll down to ISC's post. Click on the link.
2a. This downloads the .SSG files for all of the Windows patches.
3. Scroll down some more to find 東方ＯＯＯ
3a. Click on all the links expect for the one with "SSG" in it. We already have that.
4. Open the .ZIP files you just downloaded.
5. Extract the contents of the thXXu.zip or thXXk.zip to the thXX's game folder.
6. Extract the thXX.ssg file from the thssg.zip folder to the thXX's game folder.
7. Run the patch you want:

Ultra Patches (thXXu.zip)
Patch 1: Your regular Ultra patch with autobomb
Patch 2: Same as Patch 1, but no autobomb
Patch 3: Ultra mode with infinite lives and bombs. Highscore is now a death counter.

Cheat Patches (thXXk.zip)
Patch 1: Just an autobomb. No Ultra.
Patch 2: Resources never deplete.

7a. Now the thXX.exe (the original game) has been patched. You can leave it as it is, or you can make a stand-alone .EXE.
8. Run the .BAT file tat came with the patches.
8a. Note that there's a patched version of the original game in the folder now, with .OLD files (caps included)

Just a note, you MUST use the original .EXE in order to be able to patch it.

Also, can anyone test to see whether or not if the patched .EXE works with the Community-Reliant English Patcher?

I recall seeing an Ultra video somewhere on YouTube with English text, apparently due to newer translation software.

Edit: I feel like I'm misremembering that, and I probably am. I feel like it should work, though.

on the touhou xxk:there doesn't seem to be a second patch?

same with touhou xxu: no third patch :/

Looking through the patches, some of them only have one, some have more. If there's only one, patch using that one.

The directions are based off of DDC, though.

oh man :/. Was basically hoping to get this patch specifically so I could just dick around with unlimited lives and never losing resources. Guess I'll try it with DDC since that game is pretty fun.

Should be the same, but I personally haven't tested it. The directions in the OP are for DDC, but it should apply to EoSD and IN.

.exe, instead of th06.exe. There seems to be a hidden character between the u and the g in the second one too.

the ultra exe gives this error on 6 , and on 8 the patcher can't even find the exe lol

Could you screenshot the folder structure for the Playism release? I don't know if there's a difference between that and the Comiket release.

Go to imgur.com and click upload image. Once it's done, copy and past the link on the right side that has the tag [img] in front into your post.

Don't use the imgur.com/gallery/ url, that doesn't work. It needs to be either i.imgur.com or have a file extension at the end of the url.

Yes, my instructions in the OP should work here. Just make sure to make a backup of your score files (in %appdata%\ShanghaiAlice\th[game number]\) and your actual game.

I recall the ultra patches not working with the older translation patched stuff, like you'd need to use untraslated stuff.

You can't. You can only use the patches on the original Japanese EXEs.

When i run the game after all of the doing this and that, the game runs normally but there"s no ultra patch applied, its just the normal Japanese game with the same bullet amount.. Help?

Do you have screenshots? Which game are you using? If it's EoSD, you'll need to rename the original Japanese EXE.

So, I tried to install Ultra Mode, but all of the updates throw an error. (See below, hopefully.) I believe that TH06.exe is completely up to date. What should I do?

I got ultra mode to work with th09, th11, and th13; however when I tried with th06 (see above), th12, and th14, they didn't work. Maybe there would be a difference in the files?

All of them don't work with hardpatched English. Other than that I'm not sure what's causing it.
