LocaleSwitch: an AppLocale alternative for modern Windows

By now, we all know that the official Microsoft AppLocale program doesn't work well with Windows Vista and later versions because of UAC and related security features. Sure, you can make it work by disabling UAC, but that also makes it easier for viruses to wreak havoc on your PC. There exists an alternative program called LocaleSwitch, and it will automatically take care of UAC-related things on the mentioned OS's, without you having to mess with it yourself. The program can be downloaded from here, and if you can read Chinese the developer's instructions are here.

For those who can't, I will show you how to use it:
- The first text field is where you put the address to the target program
- The second text field are for any run-time arguments you might want to pass to the target program
- The dropdown box lets you select the emulated locale for the target program. For example, with Japanese games, you would select the option with "JA" in parenthesis.
- The left button in the bottom-right with the UAC shield icon on it will create an emulated environment and run your program. The desktop will dim and you may have to enter your Windows password if you have one.
- The right button in the bottom-left will create a shortcut to run the target program with the environment settings you specified.

Commandline syntax for geeks:

Code: [Select]
LSC.EXE "address of target program" -c"string" -p### -s### -l### -f"string" -z###
- p, s, and l should be followed the codePage, character Set, and Locale id to emulate. These are pre-set for you if you create a shortcut using the method mentioned above.
- f and z aren't exposed in the GUI, and those variables set the Font and font Size. For some games you might want to fiddle with this, especially when the font is too large or small
- there no spaces after the switches

Note: I am not the developer of this program. I am only informing you of its existence, and translating the usage instructions for you.
