I admit the second option has quite a bit of Kaiji-esque appeal.

Also, scratch the archer, since I realized I'd be doing literally nothing but full attack. I'm going to play a melee character of some sort instead to make sure Purvis can get his flanks.

I'm thinking of playing a Magus, actually. Do we have a demand for a melee spellcaster for flexibility? :3c

Yeah not fond of the third option much. First option seems kinda boring in a way as well?

The third option sounds great, given we are under Ronaldus Maximus I and it fits directly in. The second works very well for my character idea.

So currently our party composition looks like this.

Mostly Confirmed
1 - Amra (Alchemy)
2 - Oarfish (Bard)
3 - Purvis (Murderhobo)
4 - Stuffman (Violence)
--
Space requested
5 - PX
6 - Raitaki
7 - Sock

Something of a problem here in that I'm mainly aiming for 5 spaces.  In the interests of fairness I think first applicants will get choice, though of course some might not want to go with current party set or world.  Reminder that the game plan is Saturday evenings (PST) and will be done via IRC.

------------

I admit first sounds most boring, but I mainly include it because it has the least DM Player pitfalls.  We'll both know what we're getting and things will be reasonable and fair at the start.

The thirds main positive draw is you'll be able to chat with the monsters, since you aren't killing them.  Way less glamor then the other two options though I admit.

Second as said is Kaijiesque.  Though slightly more fair because there's more then one mafia gang in town, and you're valuable tools instead of losers good only to crush underfoot.   Expect me to be "give me a bit" more often then the other two though.

Oh man, they buffed Soulknife. Time to go FULL ANIME.

Iced: A good strategy is to take one or two more players than you actually want, because it is inevitable that someone will drop.

I'm okay with any of the three campaign types, really. Although #2 is the most interesting premise, #1 might be best since it'll keep the game moving smoothly.

I'm utterly certain I can't handle more then six players, and I feel somewhat hesitant about six so I figured I'd stay safe to start.  I also was reminded that I have a favor owed that might eat a space.  Fortunately if things do go south the episodic nature of the game allows easy replacement since, you're going to be in a city, not 6 levels underground on the "evil fungi" level.

Should probably decide as a team whether we're faces or heels.

Does Pathfinder actually start at 10 per stat for pointbuy? cause that's new.

Should probably decide as a team whether we're faces or heels.

I'd like faces but if we're running the underground circuits then I could go either way.

If you paid attention to your WWE, you'd know there is no face and no heel; for everyone has been both.

It doesn't matter if you've been a face in the past; if you're aiming for heat currently, you're a heel.

The character sheets here have a space for "actor portraying this character in the movie version of the game"
I think my character, Brock Ohmama, would be portrayed by Denzel Washington. His highest Perform skills are Oratory and Comedy. He'd fit better as a face.

If you're interested in the underworld circuits it's going to be more Kaiji then WWE yeah.  Though deciding if you're going to be super murderous towards the competition or merely cautiously wary might be good.

But yeah I've already mentioned to a few people (including Iced yes) but might as well drop it in here - I do not expect to be frequently free for the timeslot, don't any of you worry about accomodating any of my preferences because god knows if it'll come up ever, but I'll probably end up whipping up a character anyway for shits and giggles.

Worst case they just go on the massive pile of D&D characters I've never gotten to play and probably never will. :V

So, since the questions have been asked:

Point buy - 25 is what everyone's likely used already so we'll stick with that.  (If everyone used 30 like Amra did, please tell me so I don't force EVERYONE to completely change their character over this)
HP - Max at first, average die roll for every other level.  Round up.
Gold - Starting gold for 4th level adventurers is 6,000 gp.  In addition each of you may get a crappy apartment, beat up used car, a TV, a microwave and a pantry filled with microwavable food.  However given the campaign setting it's possible you'll want modern items and conveniences.  For those use real world prices, and assume 1gp = $3.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I'd prefer the second or third background, because screw using the front door :V

I also am more used to 30 point buy, but then my GMs were sadists who loved throwing 4 sprinting treants at a bunch of lv4s which included an illusion wizard, so I think I can survive 25 point buy.

Here's my build, feel free to critique it. http://pastebin.com/CsPPZtgR
I didn't take UMD, but if you think it'll be important I can switch something out.
I'm assuming Grandstanding is a separate skill, but maybe it isn't?
saved about 1kgp towards noncombat things such as limo rental, minibar fees

Grandstanding is a separate perform skill yeah.  And I think you're crazy for not taking the best skill in the game, but it's not required.

Suggest you talk with the party about healstick funding.  Wands of CLW add up.

Hey Iced, are minor races like tiefling allowed in the campaign? I'm thinking of a tiefling character. I should be able to finish the sheet in time for this Saturday.

While tieflings would be allowable, they would suffer discrimination.

Also to repeat the warning : I'm getting 5 people from thread, so everyone who dropped in after PX would be on reserve, filling in only if other people couldn't show.  I don't want anyone sacrificing time and life and getting blindsided when there's no slot available.  I hate doing it this way, but I am 100% sure I can't handle more then that in an online game.

Also, if we're starting this Saturday I won't be available at night for work

Also, I think the second scenario would probably be the best
