[Anime] Captain Earth

So erm, anyone watching Captain Earth?

I know we don't usually talk about mecha shows, but this show is all about the seriousness, and it has some of the best animation I ever seen.

High-school student Daichi Manatsu works for the Globe (グローブ Gurōbu^?) organization to pilot a giant robot called the Earth Engine Impacter (アースエンジンインパクター Āsu Enjin Inpakutā^?) to protect the Earth from the invading alien force known as the "Kill-T-Gang" (キルトガング Kirutogangu^?). from the planet that made House Speaker Boehner snicker everytime he thinks about it.

TBH, the first time I saw the name and trailer of this anime, I expected an anime version of Captain Planet.

totally not related lol. but yeah I guess we cannot have two captains in the animation world now can we GOOGLE?!

the fact the main pilot robot body has to be launched from earth... is kinda downputting... and and...

I watched the first one. It was fine I guess. Really well animated, didn't have anything in it I hated. Probably watch another one and see what happens.

That wasn't the only case of weird robot phallic imagery that came up in the last half. Maybe that's just me, but there seemed to be a lot of it. :derp:
