I just run across this small game today when randomly searching on the internet for fun.
It read your audio files or BMS files and convert them into danmaku patterns.

Here is an example video of how that works: http://220.170.79.48/html/game/20090811/42031.html

This is the download link, game is still in Alpha and is Free software:
http://drop.io/tforcelab/asset/spectrumv055-rar

Both audio files and BMS Files are recognized by the game.
A detailed readme file in English is included in the RAR package.

Have Fun.

Yeah this thing is pretty sweet. its like "Osu!" but it converts your music into danmaku for you to score or survive against. and if you have Beatmania you can use those maps as well and load them into it. Its a really simple program but its pretty fun haha. If your used to playing Osu! or Beatmania this is not problem. Now i can dodge danmaku while playing touhou music haha. .....wait i do that already with the normal games lol
its pretty neat overall ^_^ worth a try haha. Already did a couple of my fave songs already.
See the patterns, feel the patterns, become one with the patterns, avoid the patterns
In order to live through the patterns, you must understand the patterns for everything else there is MASTER SPARK.

I seriously had an idea about something like this over a year ago, it's cool to see someone had the same brainwave and put it into practice.

It has a lot of trouble converting BMS Anothers, but it seems to handle Hypers pretty well.

That was pretty fun. :V

But I wasn't sure if I was supposed to run into them or around them.

Extend mode in Another difficulty is the best thing that has happened to music ever.

Around them. It's danmaku. Pretend there's bullets coming towards you, trying to KILL you. ._.

This program is way, WAY better than the other "Music-to-danmaku"-thing, Bullet Philharmonic Orchestra.

Already tried it.
Well, this program is more simple to use than BPO. But it lack of bullet pattern. The more beat, only more bullets it'll generated.
On the other hand, BPO had many bullet pattern. Obviously it's following Dodonpachi style.

Still waiting for one that can generate laser and one that make slow & low beat music just as hard.

Maybe Long note equal laser...think opera music.

Yeah, their "from audio" needs work. There were long "full of intense heavy rock" sections in Flower of the Sun, for instance, in which the Disembodied Miku Head didn't release any bullets at all. And I agree that it could do with prettier patterns, too.

It's a good start, though, I guess.

Try higher difficulties?
Since I set it at Hyper and I miss 5+ times per 4 min.

Really, the audio-portion of this isn't very good. You're better off using BMS files.

Interesting, if more patterns and bullet types are added as the game progresses it'll be a pretty good danmaku simulator, just play your favorite music while practicing dodging danmaku. Right now the game is fun a short time but it really repetitive. I'll follow the development on this one.

Yeah, echoing that from Audio needs some work; lasers with note length would be particularly nice as mentioned before.

I'll have to hunt down some BMS files later and see what there is to see.

Anyways: Purvis Recommandation: Banson's Aria from Henry Hatsworth.

Huh, thought this topic would be about Bullet Philharmonic Orchestra. Which still may be the best name for a game ever.

What's "Extend" mode?
In that one, you gotta "Bomb" bullets to get points.
You have a bar that's reduced by "Bombing" or getting hit. If it reaches 0, you lose.
When you bomb, the bullets near you explode. They may form a chain reaction.
Also, for each bullet your bomb destroys, you gain a little bit of health. Very little, so you must concentrate in bombing huge clusters.
