Spoiler:
Furst showing up and then immediately getting the shit whipped out of him.  Oh, Frannie, I knew I liked you for a reason.

Spoiler:
The beatings will continue until the logic improves.

Bonus points for the double-whippings from the whip and baton.  I love how many opportunities are not going missed in this game.

Sometime today it occurred to me that Furst's theme would make a passable substitute for the Final Jeopardy! theme - or the other way around.

FUCK YOU YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD
Man imagine how much better this case would be if we actually went to court. :<
Spoiler:
Franziska is the best thing, I've laughed out loud every episode now. And is von Jure about to pull a face turn? :o

Spoiler:
"And your subordinate is named Dick."

However appropriate for the situation, that would never fly in a real translation.

Also, I'm writing this new arrival down as having the most bizarre set of personal gimmicks in the series.

@Shadoweh:
Spoiler:
Considering the implications of the keycard record it seems likely.  Though from a narrative PoV I don't really buy the emotional route the story's trying to take.

Is it really that hard to explain to
Spoiler:
Franny
the circumstances behind this mess?

For a turning point that was coming a mile away and was built up until now, that was some subpar execution, but sure.

I think this new dude is bizarre as well (not the good kind of).

Spoiler:
If she is I agree it's out of place. The only way I can see it as believable is if it was just a 'test' or something. Which would still be dumb imo.
It still bothers me in general that Edgeworth's progression has been Top Shit to Behind The Scenes Calling Shots Cool Guy to 'plz let me in on ur investigations gais gais cmon ;-;'. I've complained about this already but as a prosecutor maybe he'd be more effective if instead of screaming I MUST FIND DA TRUFF he I don't know, used his influence to actually become the prosecutors on the cases, OR used the complete incompetence of the other side to up his own influence. I liked Edgeworth because he wasn't like Phoenix in having nothing but a twelve year old girl on his side.

I basically have to agree.  This game seems more like a game with PW but with fewer court scenes and more "the forensics team worked really fast!" than a game about Miles Edgeworth.

I liked our favorite
Spoiler:
ineffective scientific investigator
. *pout*

Actually, this cameo will probably serve more of a purpose than Shi-Long Lang's in this game's Case 2 and AAI1's Case 4.  "Hi guys I exist; also my theme is awesome"

Also, dang that's a pretty rooftop.

Spoiler:
I like her too, she should have been Edgeworth's assistant from the start instead of Kay. It doesn't make her randomly showing up here any less jarring. This is coming from someone who likes Ema and wants her here! I guess it works if you assume Edgeworth has a stalker fanclub of young girls..

I thought Shi-Long Lang's cameo wasn't that bad, at least he had a reason to be there, he wasn't too intrusive, and he was gone right after, with foreshadowing that makes me interested to see him again later. AAI is bad for non-sequitor cameos.

Edit: SCIENCE! And this case just got really weird and self-referencing.

For Shadoweh:
Spoiler:
Well, he does.  Edgeworth also has a stalker fanclub of psychotic old women as well.

Actually, that's an interesting foil between Edgeworth and Stalwart.  Stalwart wants everyone, and everyone wants Edgeworth.

---

Spoiler:
Stalwart:  "Looks like we've got ourselves another cute assistant."

Stalwart speaks for all the marketing staff at Capcom.

---

Also, one thing that never fails to jar me every time I see it is that the translation calls the lawyer Atticus or "Atty".  Between the Atticus Finch reference and how "atty" is the abbreviation for "attorney" in law circles, it's just that good.   ...but you probably knew that.

Looks more people from AAIT1 are coming back to see Edgeworth, and oh boy... sounds like the victim of Case 4 was a shady person selling off the evidence in an auction.

Spoiler:
This entire section is hilarious. What did you -think- was going to happen when you came down the elevator, Edgeworth? I HAVE NO REGRETS @_@

You gotta FLIP IT TURNWAYS
A couple people in the comments have noted that gameplaywise this isn't really a good case. We're being told everything that happened instead of discovering it in the investigative stage. The most important evidence piece wasn't even hinted until the middle of the trial.
Spoiler:
The red raincoat, how were we suposed to figure out the doctor was in on it without that? I thought Grandma was the culprit for a bit though because of how weird their inclusion was.

But I felt this way ever since case 3. This isn't new to me. The plot itself is weird too so really the only reason I still watch this daily is because I'm hooked to the franchise, not this game.
