First attempt at scoring, not much planning yet.  Finding a place to raise the PIV a bit more in stage 1 or 2 might be worth it, since I had a spare life on the clear.  Timed out the second stage 2 boss spell by accident, not enough time spent under her :<.  So far I'm liking this game a lot more than UFO and TD.  It almost reminds me of LLS

Er, quick question: for whatever reason, I get some weird intermittent lag during parts of the game, resulting in at times double-digit slowdown rates. Is there a cap for how high the slowdown rate is allowed to be? I would of course prefer the lowest possible rate and will continue working on eliminating the lag here, but I was just curious.

(On another note, that the way this game coincidentally caters to the way I play has me interested in submitting an entry in the first place was a pleasant surprise.)

5% total is the standard used in all the scoreboards as a slowdown cutoff. Have you tried messing with the settings and turning them down?

As with pretty much all the later Touhou games, custom.exe will not open in WINE for me, so I don't have a way of adjusting the settings. Closing the browser and wiping the memory before starting the game helps, but won't get me below 5%. I'll continue digging around and seeing what I can do, though.

So, after clearing the demo with SakuyaA, ReimuA (the wacky one) and the Flamethrower Marisa (fuck yeah), I decided to look a bit into scoring without any research or whatever. Some practice in stages 2 and 3 could be useful, since I rarely capture any stage 3 attacks on some shots and have trouble against several on stage 2, if the RNG gets me good.
