Here's a translated one for Mamizou:

"Humans have become hopeless on the witching hour . \nThe reason was because of one of the 66 masks of the Menreiki was lost. \n Hope is lost, and it seems the solution is different from one person to another. \nShe overheard about the Menreiki and went to see how she's doing..."

We do seem to be missing the others though. If you can tell me where to find them I'll be happy to find a place on the wiki to upload them.

Anyway brliron, I tried the fix thing.
It worked, but there's a tiny problem.
The text is still displayed in reverse.

Could you send me yours?
The story_select.act.txt, I mean.

EDIT:
Here's the thing that I'm having:

First, use dumpact.bat and dumpcnut.bat. Nearly all we have to edit is in data/system/story_select/story_select.act
Also, the text must be displayed horizontally. To do this, search the line containing "vertical" in data/system/story_select/story_select.act.txt_f2b54d79dd3e49fc9e58dd59080116d423f1cf3f.nut.txt, and comment it (add // in front of it).
But after, I saw that comment the line don't works (or it makes the game crash, I don't remember). You have to edit it.
You can replace the "vertical" by, for example, "verticale", or "horizontal", or anything you want.

And thanks for the mamizou's translation

I'll try the fix later.
And the translation came from the Wikia.
But if the summary is too long for Mamizou, I'll try mine.

Now all we need is a translation to Kokoro~
I think it has something to do with her learning emotions from people.

I changed vertical to horizontal, no effect.
I'm still re-doing it, but I still can't get it.
I need help.

EDIT:
Nevermind, had it sorted out.
It was on another txt file.
Anyway, I think I need to shrink the font, since the text is too long.

I think before shrinking the text, we should think about choosing the font.
For now, we have 2 points of view :
  • Mine : arial. But I suggested this one only because it was the 1st one that came in my mind. I don't really care about the font, but I searched because I know it's important for a certain amount of people (and also because I need a font with european characters for the french patch).
  • Gamer251's one.
Only one point of view isn't enough (I don't count mine). So, does someone have something to suggest (with some arguing, if possible, it will help to make a choice) ?

Edit : I wanted to copy-paste the Gamer251's point of view, but I forgot to do it.
You could try hacking Arial or Rounded and put Japanese quotes.
I'll search for it. Or just find a Shift-JIS font related to Arial.
Try IPA.
It's done, now.

brliron, both Rounded MPlus and IPA can be found in th135, right?
I'm right with MPlus not having Japanese Unicode support.
So if it's used in the game, some with Japanese Characters like the Japanese Quotes and Religion Symbols (Shinto, Taoism, Buddhism) will be changed into letters like v, u, b.
That's why I'm finding a way to hack a font.
But Arial has its perks too.
The font isn't that large.
IPA is also nice. I think it's used with the dialogue in Story mode. The style of the dialogue closely resembles IPA than Arial.
I don't know if the game is using Rounded MPlus, though.
Maybe the Main Menu?

Oh, and is it just me, or is Marisa's character info on Story Select too long?
Along with others from Byakuren to Nitori.

EDIT:
Here's Koishi's info.

Font Height is 16, but I think it needs to change to 14 to accumulate the text.

We don't care, the game doesn't seem to use them (I tried to use Rounded M+, the game displayed the default font).
Basically, here is the list of fonts we can use : http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=161
Some fonts may not work with Linux, but we can give the font file, and it seems the user will just need to copy it to ~/.wine/fake_windows/Windows/Fonts. I'll try this evening, I think.
We can also use other fonts not supplied with windows, if we ask the user to install them. But I think we have enough fonts with the Windows fonts.

I see some potential fonts in there, like Batang and DfK, was it?
Most are Korean and Chinese, though.

Wait, disregard this.

Hey guys, I made a better box for story summaries! I don't think we can post that kind of stuff on the thread, so if anyone wants it I'll PM it.
I wish I could post a picture, but dumpact.bat and dumpcnut.bat don't work for me. The former shows the "What is Libact?" message over and over and the latter just crashes.

The texture for the character introduction box should be changed, because now it looks ugly and stretched, and clashes with how the other box textures are. Otherwise it just should stay vertical (which I assume will work just as fine).

It works for me~
It just says What is LibAct? for 4 times.
Then after that, exit, and the files from the ACT are extracted.

For dumpcnut, just run dumpact, then dumpcnut.

Well, here's my box texture:

If it's not okay to post, I will remove it, but what do you all think?

Nice~
I'm gonna use this.
Where to put it?

Well first, you have to convert into a DDS file. I'd suggest Googling converting programs
Then rename the DDS file to story_base1 and put it in this folder:
<your Hopeless Masquerade folder>\th135\data\system\story_select

There was a post about converting into a DDS file long time ago :
http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,14754.msg990267.html#msg990267
And thanks for the new box :)

dumpact.bat just says "BTW, what is libACT ?" repetively, yes. But each time it says this, a act file is extracted : in the folder where the act file is, the program create a file called <act filename>.act.txt, and 2 (or 3) files called <act filename>.act.txt_<random-looking name>.nut

dumpcnut.bat has a small bug. Because of this, it crashes when the path contains at least 1 space.
I posted something to fix it, someday : http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,14754.msg998092.html#msg998092

And... I'm done~  :3
Took me 2-3 days to finish this.
Although I couldn't use Remi's textbox because my Photoshop can't open DDS files even with the plugin.

Anyways, enjoy~

It'll take me a couple of minutes to replace the textbox.

EDIT:
I just found a plugin that can let you open and save DDS files on GIMP.
So if anyone uses GIMP here, here's the link:

I seriously couldn't open and save DDS files with the plugin in Photoshop.
The plugin is great on GIMP, but when I save it, it doesn't show in-game.
So, brliron, have any more recommendations?
I think it's prohibited to put the DDS file here, so I can't have it.

I tried Quwanti's suggestion, and it worked.
It appeared in-game, but it's squished.
Like the regular Japanese box, but flipped.
I tried his suggestion a few days back.
But then, I've been very busy these past few days.
And I'll be going to a convention on the weekends.
I'll fix the box coordinates when I have the time.

Btw, the box coordinates ARE the first ones, right?
The one you [brliron] changed to 640,410?

No, the ones I changed to 640,410 are the text coordinates. The box ones are the ones I changed to 770, 255.
And I think the box is squished because of the scaling :
Then, you may want to move ant resize the box containing the text. In the same file, search ('float', 'layerX', 872.0). 872.0 is the x pos of the text, and 96.0, just below, is the y pos of the text. Then, search the next occurrence of ('float', 'scale.x', 1.0). The 1.0 lets you stretch or shrink the box horizontally. The line below let you do the same thing vertically.
I used 770.0 for x pos, 255.0 for y pos, 2.4 for scale.x and 0.5 for scale.y.
These scale values are for the old box. The one made by LadyScarlet don't have to be scaled, so scale.x and scale.y should be 1.0.

I'm translating the music room, but I have a problem with Ichirin theme's comment :
This song was tough, too, with the Bs and F#.
The game doesn't handle the # symbol. So we have to translate this differently.

I suggest this :
This song was tough, too, with the Bs and F sharps.
Is it correct ?

Edit :
Another problem with Ichirin's theme : the comment is too big...

I'll see if we can use the space on the left.

Edit 2 :
I tried to use the space on the left, and this is quite nice :

Are you okay with this ?

Maybe you can also try to add an extra line, and move around some stuff (there is a lot of space between the title of the song and "The Lost Emotion").
