Since apparently #dots-meido has some 8 people who own a TL2 preorder already, might as well! Gathering up just to see who has a copy. Gonna roll with an outlander myself.

Smashing people with giant spanners is kinda cool. Though I prefer ranged DPS generally.

I didn't sink a ton of time into the original torchlight, but I'm looking forward to TL2 to maybe give me that feeling that D3 didn't.

Also preordered the second game. I should try to finish runs with all 3 classes in the first game sometime. but even if that doesn't happen before TL2 is out, the games are different enough that there'd be no reason to not still play the first.


Will be picking Engineer for sure for the first character in the second. Not sure about what difficulty level though.

trance was using class mods.
item maps are also useful because torchlight doesn't havea  lot of documentation, so you can actually figure out what you're grinding for/towards
some of the texture mods are nice, but I can't remember which

I'm considering which mods to look at and reverse engineer should I decide to make a Touhou mod for this.

Pick up the respec potions mod, also the rebalanced sell prices mod

If you don't like grinding for uniques get the mod that guarantees unique drops as well

Cross-referencing HotSpot, look for Mod Number IDs:

438 (100% Uniques)
129 (Better balanced sale prices)
33 for Tiamat's Respec Mod, 256 for the Respec Mod I used
567 (Items always identified)
632 (Enchants never wipe)

Man, the combat in TL2 feels so crunchy.  I didn't get to play that much in beta, but it seems like every weapon in TL2 has a very large AOE with just auto-attack (I'm all for this though!).


Not sure if they fixed or not, but melee bosses like this guy can be trivialized by circling it while your pet mauls its face off.  The boss will never actually attack as long as you keep running in a circle around it.

I found the original Torchlight to be pretty boring, but after the open beta weekend for Torchlight II, I had to pre-order because it's become really fun. 

Now if only it'd come out.

I know I really shouldn't when I don't necessarily have the time, but I'm going to get TorchEd and play around. Touhou Diablo Treasure Hunter G has 3d models that might be importable to Torchlight if I can mod it.

Jerk game refuses to give me Haste spell until 29th floor. Barely made the 5 hour speedrun at 4h 59m 33s.
