Damn. I was hoping to get my stuff out before the world got replaced (haven't launched minecraft for a few updates, had to update past the server). I don't suppose it matters too much though, it'll be nice just to be able to play on the server again.

I would like to take a look around you server if that's ok. I would just have PM'd, but it seems i'm not allowed to do that. I know you stated "if you've obviously only joined the forum to get access to the server, then I'll likely deny the request. " but i am a huuugee Touhou fan and would like to see other servers with Touhou related things on it. After what seems like an eternity, the mob arena project has officially open for business again! It's located at /warp mobarena, and is not too far from the warp.

A centre area serves as a mini-base, with provisions for both repairing the arena and recovering HP, as well as discarding and crafting loot. Ender chests may be placed in the future among other things.

A light control system regulates mob spawning, and is on by default. Turn it off for a little bit for the mobs to spawn, then click it back on and slay what came in!

Plenty of slimes come in here too, and they'll spawn regardless of lighting so it's also great for getting those slimeballs. Often they may spawn up in the light system level - disregard them while a fix is being considered.

Turns out it was taken offline because the payment hasn't gone through yet :V

I decided to let it do the e-check thing instead of manually moving more money to the account every month, but I guess that takes time too.

Paypal says it should go through tomorrow, I assume the server will go back up then.

Spawn area must've regressed to an earlier version or something.

BSoD noted that a book there had some missing words (which he later re-inserted), while some stuff I put in last week is missing:

Missing things highlighted in purple, mostly stone slabs. They still show on dynmap as long as the chunk is not updated (now parts of it may be due to that).

LB, however, has logged, noted, and recorded this activity as having happened, leading to conclude that a regression took place there.

So word of warning when building around spawn I guess.

Yeah, the donation chests regressed as well. I noticed that stuff I put in the main one is no longer there, and stuff is unordered, which I usually try to keep ordered since it's so random. There were a lot more music discs in there.

No idea how only the spawn regressed though, and the rest of the world is as we left it.

This was right after the server came back online right?

I'm taking the server offline for a bit and doing a backup before trying a mass reversion of spawn with logblock.

Edit: I did a reversion in a radius of 80 in the last 4 days around spawn. Seems to have been successful, the missing roads are now there and there's a whole bunch of discs in the general donation chests. Some of you may have gotten a few freebies out of this, but such is life in Soviet Minecraft.

Let me know if anything is wrong and I can restore my backup and try again.

I imagine it only affected spawn because spawn is always loaded in memory, so it was the only area that wasn't saved properly when ProHost took it down because of my delinquent payment :V

Yeah, it was after the server came back up. Will check to see if it's fixed.

Spawn was the only affected area that I am aware of.

EDIT: One issue found at the book chest on the north end. Two books exist but their contents have been erased - they'll have to be restored manually I presume.

Welp.
I regret to inform you all that I've decided to step down from co-admin on this server. Things have been getting busier in the real world for ol' Strafe lately, so I don't have the time or effort to play on the server much anymore. This was a long time coming anyway, since playership has dwindled down over the last few months. It's just time to move on, I guess.

It's been a pleasure helping provide a world for you guys to play in. We have had a lot of fun over the past several months. Take care.

No plans have been made, as I haven't really discussed this with anybody. Sorry that this is so abrupt, but I had been thinking of stepping down for a couple of months now.. It's really up to Stuffman if he wishes to find a new partner.

Hmm, I see.

Well, as I'm sure you've noticed, I don't really play Minecraft anymore myself. I have other stuff to do.

Rather than finding a new partner, I'd feel more comfortable just passing on the ownership of the server to someone else. Does anyone want to step up and admin a new server for MotK? I'd be happy to provide technical support, but you'll have to cover the costs yourself (our current plan costs a little over $40 a month, although you could probably downgrade safely at this point). I don't really see a reason for me or Strafe to keep paying to host a server for a game neither of us play.

If nobody wants to take over the server responsibilities, I'm afraid it's time to close down.

This comes to quite a surprise, admittedly.

It would be really shameful to see this aspect of the community go and scatter, small as it may be.

Not usually my job, but...I'm open to this option, including the funding portion (at least for the next 6 months). Before that, though, I hope to hear from others about this. Also I'll have to find hosts and options, unless we want to migrate the server account info over or that sort.
