Game server is permanently closed, webchat down until further notice

If you've regularly been frequenting PPIrC via webchat you may have noticed some recent issues (webchat is hosted on henrietta).

Due to a bunch of Korean jerkoffs who tried to extort me for server OP on the Battle.net server we run, I have no choice but to kill the gameserver entirely.  There is no debate over this.  If you want to get pissed get pissed at the script kiddies who're angry I didn't give a couple of complete random strangers total control over the server.

Webchat will be down until further notice.

Wasn't your fault, I pissed off the dudes when they came knocking going OH HEY A DDOS IS COMING GIVE US SERVER OPS AND WE CAN STOP IT.  I told them to either give me the info so I can handle it myself or fuck off, and gee, they delivered.

Terrible turn of events that happened here, but we'll manage. Thanks to TSO and everyone for the game server, it was great while it lasted, and I'm sorry it had to go down this way.

@Pesco: It'd be my fault for encouraging the Korean group to come to the server to play with us anyway, I'll take the hit for that.

@TSO: I apologize this happened, good luck with fixing up our mess.

I don't know the fate of the other game servers at this moment but as it stands now the bnetd is gone and never coming back.  I may have to get rid of henrietta entirely or find another host for her if the attacks persist.

Yeah, what good would server ops do for preventing a DDOS anyway? Sounds real fishy to me. Jerkoffs ruining everything.

Really hope things will get resolved well TSO. If you need any help, financially or otherwise in relocating henrietta, just yell. It's been a fun run on the server and I'll chip in for anything to make things better.
