Abilities - What would you like to see?

Well, just something that crossed my mind while thinking.

What kind of abilities would you like to see appear in Touhou?

Personally I think a girl with manipulation of gravity would be interesting.

I'd actually like another character who has no real ability. Kinda like Marisa [Depends if you class magic as an ability in Gensokyo]

Even if it's just a Stage 1 Boss. Far as I know, anyone can use Danmaku, not just Shrine Maidens, Half-Humans and Non-Humans.

Outside of that? Maybe a plant-manipulator?

There are many abilities I'd like to see, such as:
Telekinesis
Complete mind control
Manipulation of corruption
Purification
Alchemy/Manipulation of matter
Summoning
Bringing art to life/Animation
Truth revealing powers (like an all-seeing eye. The opposite of Nue's powers)
Future sight
Prehensile hair
Manipulation of cleanness
Cursing aura/Manipulation of curses (The opposite of Hina's powers)
Petrification (May it be through gaze, bite, spell or whatever)

Some of these could manifest well in danmaku, resulting in interesting spellcards. I'll probably come up with more ideas later, but I'd especially like to see these. They would fit well with certain species and character types.

I'd like to see a character that can manipulate weight, and make their opponents so fat that their hitbox takes up the entire screen.
Manipulation of comfort. I want that one for myself.
Maybe some more elemental stuff too. Wind and earth powers and suchlike.

Oh, these are really nice ones. They would fit rather well in Touhou. Manipulation of Vibrations especially sounds good, mostly because it reminds me of Whitebeard from One Piece. :V (And look at all the damage he can cause with that!)
I wonder how exactly Manipulation of Flow would work...
Possession would most likely result in a fan-made Touhou parody of Ghost Trick.

A nebutori would likely have Manipulation of Weight. They're youkai that curse women with lethargy and obesity.
Aya and Kanako already cover wind manipulation though, while Suwako and Tenshi cover earth manipulation.

Too bad the ten desires final boss isnt amanojaku right? Amanojaku HATES buddhism and BISHAMONTEN you know, of course the youkai can manipulate desires too right? too bad too bad..

ANyway, my abilities:

Power to cause disaster
Power to cause suffering
Can breath life to any object(PLants included)

Whatever I like to see is what I'm doing (or will do) for myself through fics and the like...so I'll just list that shit on below;

- Manipulation of Gluttony
- Stove Fire that brings food to life (don't ask)
- Food Manipulation
- Power to control Miasma
- Acid manipulation
- Hivemind
- Power to control parasites (both internal and external, also tapeworm danmaku. 50 feet of PAIN)
- Necromancy (Orin actually isn't a Necromancer, believe it or not)
- Power to cause Calamity and Disasters (the ultimate incident)

Manipulation of emotions. I have an OC who can do that (Razgriz aka Tesni Foulke), and it would just open an unendingly fun can of worms.

Also, have someone with Manipulation of Chaos.

The Tsuchinoko is a creature that manipulates plants.
And Yuuka has the Manipulation of Flowers. While Flowers are plants, plants aren't strictly flowers.

Summoning
Healing/Reviving spells/powers
Purification

Shikigami can be summoned, so Yukari has that ability. Healing/Reviving powers...there's alot of those. Mokou, Kaguya, Yoshika, and Seiga.

Wind and earth

Aya, Tengu in general, Patchy, Kanako, Sanae,  Tenshi, Suwako, Patchy once again, the giant catfish.

Power to cause disaster
Power to cause suffering

In a way, Tenshi, Medicine, Remi, and maybe more can cause disaster and suffering. Toyohime carries a fan of mass destruction.

Suika can sort of do that.

If my memory serves me correctly, density and gravity are no where near the same thing.

Power to control Miasma
Power to control parasites
Necromancy
Power to cause Calamity and Disasters

Medicine? Wriggle? Seiga? Tenshi can do that. Though most of all would be a dragon.

Not all parasites are insects though. Ticks, for example, are in the same family as spiders. Most of the parasitic worms are either Roundworms or Flatworms, not insects.

Although, you got me on Seiga and Medicine.

Still, it is very close, and often overlaps. Suwako actually has complete plant manipulation. She can sprout trees, lilies and more right on the spot. Kanako also has those metal rusting roots.

Shikigami can be summoned, so Yukari has that ability. Healing/Reviving powers...there's alot of those. Mokou, Kaguya, Yoshika, and Seiga.

I mean a character that can summon creatures or items that aren't strictly bound to them, like demons or weapons, or spirits from a special realm. An ability that allows you to summon anything on the spot, instead of having to make a contract first. The closest thing we have to it are Reimu and Yorihime's deity summoning powers. Vampires are also described as being able to summon demons with mere whispers.

True, though Suika can increase the density of something so much that it gains a gravitational pull. Cranking it up even more creates her black holes, which are destructive gravity wells. It isn't exactly gravity manipulation though, since you can't increase or decrease the gravity of a given location with it.

Aside from mosquitoes and a few bugs that lay eggs in others, there are hardly any insect parasites. Ticks are arachnids, as Erebus stated, mites too, and most internal parasites are either worms or some kind of micro-organism. Those don't count as insects.
And Tenshi can cause earthquakes and bad weather, and possibly by extension tsunamis, volcanoes, lightning storms and tornadoes, but she can't directly cause more abstract disasters. Economic disaster, social disaster, plagues. She also can't summon meteor storms and the like.  With manipulation of disaster, you could also cause small scale 'disasters' that ruin the day of only a few instead of causing mass destruction.

I would like to point out that there is nothing wrong with having more than one character with similar abilities (although there is a lesser chance of them actually appearing). You don't need to go out of your way to refute a power because someone else already has it. :derp:

I wouldn't mind another plant-based character in the same vein as the tsuchinoko, having power over vines. As I recall, the tsuchinoko is a servant of Nozuchi, so maybe Nozuchi herself (or maybe a derivative) could make an appearance?

Yeah, like what the other person said. They aren't really the same, but Suika can do something similar. I am guessing increasing and
decreasing an object's density causes gravity, since Suika is able to make miniature black holes.

Hmmm a cool ability I would like to see is manipulation of Gold. This is like the king Midas legend where the character can
turn stuff to gold. It would be funny to see interactions between that character and characters in poverty(Reimu).
