Some rough thumbnails of additional cover layouts, and more progress on Reisen. I've started to file and build up her skirt to something more resembling a skirt.

Yay more sketches!

Goodness gracious, just how do you juggle all these projects, Rags?

The model is just something I can file on for 10 minutes every now and then, or spend an occasional hour on building more on.. so it's rather slow progress, but at least it's something.
A full comic page takes around 5 hours to draw and ink(which means 8-9 hours in ineffective work time), so after that I have time for other things.
Sketching on the second version cover now(first in the thumbnails), I'll post when there is some progress.

Some updates on Reisen. The rough work on the skirt is almost done, but still a lot of fine tuning to do. Torso got some additional details.

Some more sketches from a meeting.
Sorry for triple posting, but nobody's saying anything, so deal with it.

Nue with freckles? Intriguing.

Although it would take forever, I'd kind of like to see you draw every touhou eventually just to see what kinds of unusual personal touches you put on them. It's interesting to look at.

It would be fun. And take forever. My appreciation for Remilia has grown quite a bit during the work on this comic... she's always fun to draw, much more so than Patchouli...

Starting to get somewhere on the model! The skirt is done, except for a few final touchups, torso is pretty much done, the arms need some more work to fit to the body, and hands, and I'm working on the head. I did try to do a more anime-ish head, but it turned out this way... well, it's fine too. It's not finished, but the basis turned out alright, I think.
The final big challenge will be the hair. I have some ideas about how to do it, so I hope it turns out alright.

Also, another preview page from my comic. Here Remilia is telling Patchouli about an event from her and Flandre's past. They've been through a lot.

She hasn't got it easy.
Some more sketches for Yukari's dress for the comic. Now I've decided that she comes to the Scarlet Mansion in 1918, to propose the relocation to Gensokyo, so I adjusted her clothing to the fashion of the time. She's meant to look a little "unnatural"; not quite human, but more like someone or something in the guise of a human.

No..?
Have a full page, then. In which "Lady Violet" is explaining her standpoint.

Well, alright, here goes one last last page. Actually the second to last in the comic, when the SDM has landed in Gensoukyou, and Patchouli goes out to see where they are. She is greeted by a native, but there are some language difficulties. I got help from a friend with the text, and here's the transcript and translation:

Ohayo~~

Shinirine? Gensoukyou ni youkoso! Atashi wa Shameimaru Aya. Tengukyoukaikaiin toshite koko no juumintachi ni kawatte kanngeisuruwa. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

Ara? Odokashichatta? Gomenne.

Ara, ikokujin? Ja, are wa muyou kana?
Ma, iiya, agechae!

-------------------
Good mooorning!

Newcomers? Welcome to Gensokyo! I'm Shameimaru Aya. As a member of the Tengu association, I'd like to extend our greetings. We hope for your mutual respect.

Ah, did I scare you? I'm sorry.

Oh, a foreigner? Then maybe this is no use..?
Well, I'll give it out anyway.

Thank you. Yes, it's only 1918 here, so she couldn't wear a modern shirt/skirt combo. There isn't any traditional art with female Tengu, as far as I can see, but a straight kimono would be too cumbersome for her, so I made something that looks pretty much like traditional (male) Tengu wear, but a bit more skirt-like. Her belt holds her notebook and a pen/brush, a bag for newspapers/various things, and a sake gourd, of course.

Finally I had the time to finish this! It's been sitting around for months, and I've been working on it to and fro'.
Tried out something new with the technique, which was very interesting and quite time consuming. But I might want to keep polishing this style.

Did a speedpaint of everone's favourite zombie to try out some new brushes in SAI. Pretty interesting. Around 40 minutes.

All her blobbiness has rotted away. Thank you.
Here's the back cover illo for the book. I'm preparing the last stuff before the print now, so I'm done very soon... only 2 weeks too late.

Indeed! It's been a long time, and now I'm studying, so I don't have a lot of time for drawing, but I have some ideas I want to do.

Let's start with a Satori.

Thank you! You can read my comic if you buy it! Then you can read it at home or wherever you want. But right now it's a bit inconvenient, since I'm in Japan for 6 months... But maybe the shipping from here wouldn't be more than from Sweden anyway.

Also since I'm here, I can now post on 2chan, so I drew this on the oekaki board. I'm not really very fond of the Paint BBS version the Japanese seem to love, I prefer Shi Painter... But it's usable, even if the tools are a bit more inconvenient.

Pariya and Parsee, two extreme tsundere darlings!
If you don't know about Pariya, you need to go out and buy Kaoru Mori's "The Bride's Stories" right now. You need to do it in any case, because Mori is one of the best comic artists on this planet right now.
