I've managed to get my sister playing EoSD a few times. She seems to like it. PROGRESS!!!

Most of my college-mates reactions are usually, "Get a life, seriously, all you do is draw and play stupid Japanese things."

My Japanese teacher is much cooler though, I brought it to show her and we ended up having an epic match to the death on Hisoutensoku and trying to 1CC SA. My brother is likewise cool and one friend used to be as completely obsessed as I am. :3

She, might I add, is actually getting less hatred out of Touhou.
She likes the characters, music, and the endless fan material. (Marisa Stole the Precious Thing x Death Note, for one)

We decided on SA in the end.
Also I really want to show Touhou to my brother but I doubt he'll like it. He seems to like the themes I play on the piano though.

I'm playing Guitar Hero with a friend, and they show me a custom they have of the McRoll. They had no idea what it originated from, so I told them. We went back to playing.

A couple weeks later, I show him the back half of EoSD extra (to show him exactly what it originated from), and he thought the worst one was Flandre's final nonspell because it was "active dodging, not just you move when you need to". I showed him Remilia on lunatic (because he asked who the final boss was, if not Flandre), then a few of the more visually impressive spells, before showing him something more managable (PCB stage 1 normal). He seems interested in it, as he clicked on an IN extra video (and thought Fujiyama Volcano was impossible :V).
Then his roommate walks in and says "Oh, is that Touhou? Isn't that an anime?"
Naturally I said it wasn't. (and was surprisingly annoyed be it...)

In my case, the first reaction to something Touhou-related is usually when people see me in a costume, since I play the games themselves rarely to never, and I'm much more likely to play DotA or its derivatives with my friends than Tohuou-based games.

Reactions have included:

"Holy $&!#, you look good!"
"So that's what you were working on for the last two weeks."
"Are you supposed to be some 18th-century douchebag?" (This one is my favorite).
"You look like such a fag."

The next round of reactions will be when I go to the halloween party at my new job. We'll see what the people have to say there.

I encountered this one guy who was using his netbook on uni. He had his hands on the arrow keys and the usual ZXC+ shift. Curious, I went in.

Would you look at that, he was playing IN and was trying to capture Wriggle's last word. I gave him a few tips (MOVE VERTICALLY ASSHAT) and he captured it in like 10 tries.

Though, when I showed my friends touhou music, a lot of different reactions came out. Some people said stuff like "This is actually pretty good music...But all of this is too flashy" , and some, on the other hand, said things like "OMG WHAT'S THAT IS THAT CHINEEEEEESE?!"
