I showed it to one of my friends on YouTube. She said she thought it looked cool but sounded a bit bored.
Earlier I showed her a picture of Flandre with a creme caramel because we learnt that creme caramel is el flan in Spanish, I explained that to her and she burst out laughing.
Her exact words: "Flan is holding a flan today!"

I was trying to get my Lit teacher to use any of the Touhou fanimes as presentations for the Japanese culture part of his lesson plan. He later used "I play Touhou" as a lie in a lie game.

Recently got my sister into Touhou.

Her reactions went from: "Oh, you're playing that again" or "Don't tell me about it, it's boring"
to
"Can I try, too?", "Who is that character?" and so on.

Now were watching flash videos and playing IaMP and SWR together. :3
She is also starting with IN.

In other news, I've been trying to get my friend whose into League of Legends to play some Touhou. I haven't been successful, but perhaps if I showed him DotS, he might get hooked.

Relatedly, in Geometry, the teacher gave us a word problem. Something like

They laugh at me because I'm so bad despite years of playing. ;_;

I convinced one friend to play IN on Hard. He managed to get a game over at stage 6 after a few hours of playing, then he got bored of the game and hasn't played Touhou ever since. He said the videos online make the game seem a lot harder than it really is.  None of my friends really care about Touhou.

The other said: "is that another anime?"

after that, they all liked touhou too, not really like-like....
just an average like...

I've only ever managed to truly convert one person.
The rest think I'm weird when they realize that I'm a fan of something with only female characters.
Then they think I'm really weird when they see IN normal in english class.

One time I was playing Soku in class (My school gets NOTHING done with these laptops they gave us) and a friend said to play as "the hottest character".
I proceeded to choose Suwako.

In hindsight, that little joke probably didn't bolster my reputation.

Also, Jeez, there are more Australians here than I thought. We may be few, and we sure do suffer on the postage, but we're just as enthusiastic about touhou as any fan.

"Oh, look, it's that game! Can I try?"
