>"If other nations get armies of sharks and huuuuge jellyfishes, do we have an army of dolphins? :]"
>"Yes, though they're to remain neutral in the war. The armies don't do much in the way of fighting - that's the entire reason we have this war - but they serve to block the island from the outside world. Typically it's through nudging and the occasional reefed ship, but the rowdier nations have been known to attack trespassers. Either way, transport to and from Gensoushima is about to be put on hold."
>To Utsuho, later: "So what do we need to build us a Railgun?"
>"A lot more electricity than we can expect the campus to give us."
It's here you start noticing Utsuho has been looking off into the distance with a little more thought than usual. She's actually pondering something rather than spacing out...you aren't sure what, but it's a little concerning.
>Dinner is served, and the four of you come together around a dinner table to eat. Harami eyes her dinner curiously, eventually finding the bravery to take a bite.
"Hyu-!"
You see a moment of pain rise to her face as the heat of the curry hits her, and for the rest of dinner she's clinging rather desperately to her glass of water.
>"So," Rin says as she's offering her leftovers to the cats. "You want me and Okuu to say you weren't feeling well tomorrow?"
"
Okuu and I," Harami says from across the table.
Oh, right. Tomorrow is a school day, isn't it? With all this talk of wars and dolphins and magic you almost forgot. Oh, that beautiful, blissful ignorance.
