Not to mention a fair number of logs, depending on how you place 'em: out in the open or hidden. You'll need at least one within five blocks of every leaf block.
O O O
O     O
O     O
U X  U

O is a leaf block, U a log, and X cobble (or perhaps mossy). Entire thing will be 20x20 (don't have maze format yet)
This isn't going to be resource strenuous at all.

Edit: That was a horrible drawing, fix'd. Pathways will be 1 block wide. This will work won't it?

Looking good!

"Derp" about the, "Hey, who placed those three glass blocks so I can replace 'em?" since we all have access to /bb log. Theep: I owe you three glass blocks.

Call me paranoid if you want, but I took "MotK members now have access to /bb log and /bb done." as, "MotK members now have access to /bb log and /bb done, and perhaps some other commands, too!" So I tinkered around with known /bb commands for awhile. We all also have access to /bb here, /bb here [name], /bb stick 0, /bb stick 1 and /bb stick 2.

/bb here: Lets you know who's made modifications within a small, nearby area, and how many modifications they've made will appear next to their name. Fire damage and such will appear as Environment.
/bb here name: Lets you know the specifics of who's made modifications within a small, nearby area; how many modifications they've made placing/destroying/using things, and every block/item they placed/destroyed/used.
/bb stick 0: Equivalent of /bb done
/bb stick 1: Equivalent of /bb log
/bb stick 2: This one does everything that /bb log and /bb stick 1 does, but more. While /bb stick 1 is great for seeing who's placed blocks in an area- and seeing if anyone's destroyed blocks in that location before- what do you do when you see multiple rows of glass missing from the community house? You can't very well use /bb stick 1 to smack the air with a stick to see who destroyed them, right? That's where /bb stick 2 comes in. While it can also be used to check placed blocks, since /bb stick 2 is a log block, it can be placed in empty spaces; after you do that, it'll let you know what used to be in that empty space, who destroyed whatever was there, etc.

I've used the above, as well as common sense, to determine that you don't just place, then destroy multiple TNT blocks, destroy glass blocks, destroy beds to steal from the community and destroy torches to steal from the community on accident, without repairing your "mistakes."

In other news, you've gotta be squidding me. So they grief our server, "hay guiz i found a new 1 lets go LOL!" and that's that? And I'm willing to bet that that disgusting, half-finished home made out of everything from pink wool to cobblestone, from bricks to dirt and everything in-between, the one with the large chest in it, has a lot of players' goods which have been stolen. BigBrother says this structure belongs to fig_man_57, which is why I think that. Moderators SHOULD be able to peek into the chest to find out. If they're unable to, DDR needs to change their permissions to allow for this, as I've been able to view the contents of locked chests as a moderator/administrator of several other servers using LWC.

Quote madness go! This has been a crazy day on server, so it needs crazy quoting and response!

Have any moderators been chosen and promoted to moderator rank yet?
Strafe, me, and Jquan / PX so far. Got our ranks yesterday, but it seems there remain a few quirks to iron out.

RUNNING MINECRAFT ON A COMPUTER WITH NO GRAPHICS CARD. YEAH! 8GB OF RAM, DO YOUR JOB.
You're running off integrated graphics, I guess, similar to what many of us do. RAM makes little difference with that, alas. I have 8GB in my x201 and it didn't do jack in speeding up game performance (a real shame, since Intel GPUs are horrendous at OpenGL performance).

"Derp" about the, "Hey, who placed those three glass blocks so I can replace 'em?" since we all have access to /bb log. Theep: I owe you three glass blocks.
Don't have to repay me. I was working on some repairs along with KoishiKomeiji (EternitySky) yesterday, and used mod commands to get the glass needed.

I can't peek in protected chests, unfortunately. That will have to be fixed by DDR.
And indeed, that house was an utter abomination. The TNT blast holes nearby didn't help.

Well, it seems that the roleplay world has been deleted. Hopefully, problems from that crew will decline. I did notice that the Sphere world portal isn't working now. Perhaps DDR is modifying things into a warp station of sorts?

I'll be traveling around, fixing whatever damage I can. I hereby invite all of the old MotK users back to the server. Let's build cool stuff and have fun with the server again!

Heya! Sent you a PM earlier today. Also, there's a small area near the sphere portal in the shape of an identical portal that can't be modified, but doesn't give any messages when users try to modify it.

Now that's an idea!
Also, should we rebuild in the old areas or the new parts we've found and made camp in? They'll be connected, sure, but it'd be convenient to have it all in one area IMO.

Also, as soon as I finish landscaping and building the maze, I'll probably start a long long long tunnel to my base, which apparently doesn't appear on the live feed, but my lava outpost does.

I'm busy trying to create a subway system to link various areas...maybe I'll include your area as well to cover.

EDIT: Still can't seem to bypass world protections yet in areas that have them (old RP teleport, for instance).

DId you have to say that out loud? Now others will be hunting for stuff around there...!

Might as well call that church the Kaguya Lunarian Church now, seeing as the Mokou Church of Immortal Pyromancy is just nearby.
At least this one won't burn down the rest of the area iif something goes wrong.

Grueling along with subway in the main areas.

Fire is disabled so I can't make a fireplace. DD:

Also, here's the plan for the maze, if you don't want to get spoiled, don't look at it.
MAZE
Black is going to be leaves. White the space you walk (on mossy cobble), central area exposed (or maybe glass bordered) with waterfalls and a giant tree in the middle.

OK. Feel free to tell me what you need right here or in MC chat and I'll be glad to assist, as stated earlier.

URGENT EDIT!
We've been griefed by fig_man, Adrian, and Charcaid again. MASSIVELY. Community house got corrupted to oblivion.
Put those three on permaban. Now.

I've rolled back parts of the world to attempt restorations...but it seems some overnight developments may be affected by this. If this is the case then I apologize in advance and will assist in restoration.
(we also really need /setwarp to allow for easier checks in far-away areas)
Also seems the community house rollbacks keep fucking up so I'm repairing those manually. But some of the new blocks (which seem to have no edits whatsoever) have region protection which we mods still don't have a way around.

I've also deleted all instances of fig_man_57's, adrian246's, and charcaid's work on this server. So no more pink house nearby.

(...sorry all if my actions are a bit on the extreme end and a bit quick...but it seems necessary)

If you all can join in and help us repair the damage (and maybe idiotic rollbacks as well), it'd be more than appreciated.

I just reread this, then DDR's list of commands that moderators can use, and noticed that /ban isn't one of them. That's... Not good. As one of the people who would have loved to have banned the first two people days before this ever happened- and that's certainly not to say that I didn't have my eye on the third- I'm disappointed in a lack of a /ban command for moderators, as this could have easily been avoided, had there only been a sufficient number of moderators willing to take action, and the ability FOR them to take action. As things stand now, you could have every MotK member be a moderator, but it wouldn't make any difference if they're incapable of /ban ning a single person.

That said, allow me to be frank. I'd like for you to reconsider making me a moderator. I've tried getting in touch with you in several different places just to ask why you felt that I would make a below-average moderator, but haven't received any replies, so I may as well put this out in the open. As someone with nearly a year of experience playing this game and almost as much time spent moderating and administrating servers as well, I can certainly say that I'm not lacking in the 'experience' department, and many of the plugins that your server now runs on- such as BigBrother, LWC and even Bukkit- stand as testament to this. From toiling over the community house for far over twenty hours to making the Nether a safer place to be before the Nether was reset, from helping rebuild Skye's home as best I could with over seven stacks of materials to handing out free materials from smooth stone to glass, from redstone dust to diamonds, I feel like I've been nothing short of an extremely upright member of the community. I'd like to take this helpfulness a step further in the form of protecting the server from griefers in ways which, currently, I'm unable to.

Theep - Your actions are nowhere near extreme, they're much more than reasonable, don't you worry about that for a moment. By the time you read this, I've already logged on to offer my assistance.

First, Haku, I'll give thanks for encouraging me to get on the server this morning while the griefing was going on. A moment sooner, and maybe they wouldn't be there to face disciplinary action.

I got the same idea too. While I was trying to roll back the areas they were all blaming SoD_Devil (the other "admin" figure) and then proceeded to go to revenge...by putting a shitton of purple wool and stuff in community house.
The worst part was that they offered to repair it with said wool and shit. As if that was the original material, and I explicitly told them I could repair with BB rollbacks. They failed to listen.

They tried to blame each other and especially Devil for the blocks, but BB logs say otherwise. >:D

And of course, when I threatened to ban all of them they begged me to take Devil with them and pleaded that I not ban them. Then they ask for forgiveness...well, that won't happen!

What I've seen in some FPS servers is that only mods and admins get banning powers, but ordinary users can stage a votekick. If Permissions and such allow for that I'd encourage it to the MotK usergroup, so they can pull a few actions whilst we mods and admins aren't around.
The userbase can then report them in, so we can set appropriate action.

But seriously, if we mods had banning powers I would've banned Fig yesterday, leaving one less griefer to worry about.

Quote
That said, allow me to be frank. I'd like for you to reconsider making me a moderator....
I will second this action, as well as expansion of mod powers to allow for bans, warp setting, the ability to bypass region protection (DDR asked me to test it earlier, and he said he would fix it but hasn't gotten around to doing that yet), and maybe flying immunity (which Eraiya and SodaMachine seemed to have before the permissions changes).
The rest of the admin powers...well, we don't seem to need them (least of all lightning). :V

Many thanks for your support. I was worrying that my actions would result in unforseen consequences such as lots of work going down the drain, which could cause an uproar. But it seems the uproar is against the griefers for now.

I forgot all about it until now, but such a plugin does exist. Or at least it did in mid-Alpha, as that's the last time I remember seeing it used. It worked rather well, I'd say.

But seriously, if we mods had banning powers I would've banned Fig yesterday, leaving one less griefer to worry about.

Which is a good thing- one thing that never ceases to bug me on any game is clear evidence of someone being a griefer, but the moderators/administrators of that server refusing to take action simply because they don't feel like it or, to them, the evidence isn't sufficient.

Thanks for your support, too! I agree with all of the above, except for two things- I don't have flying immunity, I've just gotten used to being very careful with flying to avoid the auto-kick. :3 The other thing I disagree with: I'm not worried about your actions resulting in unforeseen consequences. Did I, personally, lose at least an hour's worth of work from the rollback? Yes, but I only mention this to add: it's no problem, really. I had a couple of hours to patch up those TNT holes by hand yesterday, and if I'm capable of doing it once, I'm capable of doing it a second time, so there's no need to worry about that! Don't sweat it~

@The_EP I was slow this morning and failed to realize what went on while it went on. Had I more experience I'd have rushed to warn you or whoever I could find about it. Sorry about that.
Well, your post was enough of an indicator...though I sure didn't expect to see that carnival when I was logging in!

Or in my case, because I was unable to.

Ah. Plus it seems everything outside the community house area is in working order, so my point is quite moot. :)

Yep, I guess I have to ease up a bit after the griefing madness over the past two days.
