If theres a whitelist, it cant just be a shitty 'do you want to join y/n' one. If DDR makes a whitelist, He and the other mods that may or may not exist should know when something gets griefed, it's also going to particially be their fault for letting a griefer into the server.

But I agree on a white-list on a server open to this mass of the internet.. Griefers are always gonna be there unless you put a cork in on the drip.. Even if one makes it past... that's one compared to the dozens that would have hit and never get properly banned..

Definitely not the first one, who (according to chat logs) is in for RP...but seems to be a bit pushy about it (eg. "I'm ready to act!", "check out my new skin from halo".)

EuropeRick was one of the ones to get banned. Charcaid is just a kid seeking attention. He's been connecting/disconnecting constantly all day.

We're almost to 80 unique visitors. We've quadrupled our "userbase" in less than a week.

We seriously need to keep an eye on the players  adrian246 and fig_man_57. They were both asking for supplies to make TNT and flint & steel. I caught them trying to detonate TNT outside the community house. Their excuse: "I needed some stone"

fig_man_57 also has a habit of killing players for their stuff. Thankfully I got mine back.

EDIT: Also, I find it odd that people in the roleplay world can join our world, but we cannot join theirs. I don't believe that our users are the ones that grief. It's like the odds are stacked against the MotK half of the server.

I'm getting suspicious of those two as well. First the TNT bit, and now they demand random stuff, notably OP position. The former even pushed me to say "make adrian an OP, DDR or SoD!" ...yeah, as if that'll happen!

As for the MotK users, generally speaking we know each other rather well, so I highly doubt it's our userbase. But the RPers are more hodgepodge, just registering to this server and project on a whim based on a MC forum thread.
And it's bad enough that the RP users are complaining about griefing in their world as well.

DDR exploded another 4K TNT somewhere else, with Adrian and fig_man as test subjects. No idea why.

Also, earlier this evening someone joined our server JUST because he thought it was a parkour/trickjumping one. DDR, I highly suggest removing the teaser now that the event is passed and Minecraft's Edge is no more. It's giving newcomers the wrong idea about what this server is, in addition to the griefer lure.

I'm going to suggest server downtime and check through who may be griefing. I'd also recommend a required 'login', for a whitelist. All members are required to log in, and those that do not cant do anything. The fact you can simplely terminate a password so someone's pretty much banned from the server is pretty good imo. Would stop a lot of griefers.

That, or ask the server hosts to move to a new IP and dont tell everyone and their mother about said IP :V

I also recommend IP moves, starting first with key members (mods, active community players) and then spreading from there.

While I wasn't there to see it for myself, I don't think Strafe and theep would make up something like that for no reason, and considering who they are, I'm inclined to trust them on their word. Changing the IP: sure, sounds great. Another possible solution could be to bump up all MotK members one rank- one above the default but one below moderator, a new usergroup you could make with Permissions or GroupManager or whatever plugin you're using for that- and disallow building permissions for default ranked players.

That way, if someone joins the server, they won't immediately be able to rip and tear into things. Also, griefers people like adrian246 and fig_man_57 would go through a short phase of, "Yes, we know you're online and want to be promoted from Default to Member, but we'd like to get to know you first" to help separate potential griefers from people who wish to be a part of the community. I've suggested this for two servers in the past, one on which I was a mod, one on which I was an admin, and on both, there were fantastic results.

Edit: As for griefing to report, someone made the mistake of stealing all four beds from the community house. Obviously, as one person pointed out, the only reason someone would need to steal all four would be "so that other people can't use them." I've since replaced the beds, and would like for you to see who destroyed then stole them before I replaced them, DDR. Oh, and what was previously a small wheat farm within about ten blocks of the community house has had a large portion of glass destroyed- might wanna check that out, too.

How convenient, Adrian typing "GTG" and logging out IMMEDIATELY the moment I ask why he's bragging about having finished making TNT out of about 100 bits of gunpowder.

This griefing problem wasn't here when I first joined.. Now weeks later it's top subject.. Something gotta be done.. White-list or secret IP change.. When we fear our stuff is gonna be torn down, *mini Sakuya, mini Okuu and QB are now victims* then it's time to do something to rid the threat..

DDR, I was just chatting with the bros in the server (and mistaken for you somehow), And I was looking at Eraiya. The whole screen for me was black. There was nothing rendered on the map near Eraiya, And the same goes for the two guys that were in the RP world at the time. Any possible fix?

The livefeed has been broken since the 1.7 update. All areas explored since then have their chunks obscured.

The only good indicator for the livefeed for now is for relative player locations.

Bump all existing MotK members? Well, that'd be nice but first we'll need to know of the changes, not only to our group but to any newcomers who join in.

WorldGuard can:
disable/kick a player/ban a player/alert the entire server/alert only members of a certain rank
upon the
use/placement/tossing out/obtaining/left clicking/right clicking
of any item/block

In short, yep, WorldGuard can disallow players from placing TNT blocks and trying to use Flint & Steel, or kick them for attempting to!

Then I'll just have to keep repairing it as damages occur! Unless BigBrother's rollback feature works again in 1.7, in which case, DDR can just repair it all within five seconds, where it may take hours for someone else. But as of 1.6.6, those rollback commands were broken.


Welp, anywho. Took an hour and a half, but I repaired most of the holes and ohmygodwhodidwhattotheterraintomakeitlooklikethis's near the community house and planted about twice as many torches around to help negate mobs spawning in many, many places.
