Then we fill with water, and make the TNTic Ocean.

Then we fill with water, and make the TNTic Ocean.
Water with commands, Bukkits, or something else?
I propose we make a skytown above the crater, With a water-slide down. By a water slide I mean a sole block with water going down it so that we can just into it from 500 feet above

Here's what I'm thinking. The people with the worst computers take the blows, While the ones with the best watch from afar. By 'afar', I mean 'so far you can barely see a block of TNT' because chances are its going to blow up and hit you from there anyways.

My moms computer is decent, So I'm pretty sure I can watch the blast and take a few pics. But I'd need a forewarning seeing as how I'm never on the server because Terrarias been whoring up all my life.

Also, We're going to be getting this TNT 100% legit right? And who will be the placers/destroyers?
In that case I will be one of those watching (good gaming rig here). If things turn out right I may even record a video of this.

As for the 100% Legitimate TNT, well, PX will really have to let us use that mob grinder like there's no tomorrow. And we need mass expeditions to the desert in the southeast for all that sand.

I'm really not doing that much ATM since my tower is done, so I'll be willing to scout the desert for you guys if it be needed.

TEAM EFFORT.
We're going to walk in one direction for a day  place a red flag and say
"We're going to blow this place up"
Again, southern forests are the best on-map area for this.

Quote
Or the farlands.
804 hours of walking! Can it be done?

Okay, Here's what I'm thinking.
For the guys who have laggy computers, They hit the TNT, And sign out quickly. Everyone else takes a pic or whatever and watches the glorious explosions that make our inner demomans shudder in ecstasy. After that everyone logs back in and you know we look at the giant beta hole that we made. Except it isnt a beta hole, It's a TNT hole. Like seriously if we dont see any bedrock after the explosion I will be disappoint.
I prefer widespread explosions over deep penetration, but whatever works!

Then we fill with water, and make the TNTic Ocean.
And then the squid go extinct.

Water with commands, Bukkits, or something else?
I propose we make a skytown above the crater, With a water-slide down. By a water slide I mean a sole block with water going down it so that we can just into it from 500 feet above
If the crater is wide AND deep enough, I highly approve. Small floating town + drawbridge + massive trench down to bedrock = SUCCESS.

BUT we still need some time to determine the strategy and make preparations.

Remember not to use the grinder for too long or it gets clogged up by spiders and stops working. As for the lake idea, I think that's amazing and I will help.

Actually we may not even need the water. Just have a giant bedrock pit :V

Don't worry! I'll be hitting F9 to record with FRAPS ;) (and maybe it'll crash due to higher CPU usage :o)
(and then rebooting to Mac, processing in FCE, and uploading to YT within 48 hrs).
Alternatively, testing out QuickTime X's screen recording with MC on OS X to save a reboot.

Now, we really need to set up a dedicated time and place for this.

I'd say just gather up some TNT and such over the course of the week, With everyone covering a different direction to find sand, while someone else stays back at the mob-killer.

That or we make a few more mob killers and get the sulfur first, as that's the hard part.

I'll build a minecart system from the grinder to anywhere you want, as long as someone else provides most of the materials. I lost most of my stuff because of creepers.

All right, got QuickTime X's screen recorder to work with Minecraft using Soundflower as audio passthrough device. Catch is that it runs at about 24FPS (game gets smooth 60).

I guess I'll have to use the FRAPS option or get some other Mac-based screen recorder for this. We need maximum framerates!

(and since YT has only 30FPS >:( I'll try applying frame blending to simulate 60FPS, as suggested in a Daytona USA gameplay vid).

We need a IRC or something for those people with laggy computers to stay in touch with everyone recording the TNT or something

A Minecraft IRC eh..?
I like that idea!

I had another idea, but it might take the entire server's help...and space.

You guys know Disgaea 3 right? Well, why not make an exact, to scale, replica of Netherworld Academy!
...That'd take a lot of blocks...

I prefer floating town over our giant explosion pit. We get that town idea everyone seems to like AND get to keep our stuff!

...I got another diamond of an idea.
Why build just a simple floating town, when we can build one huge communal fortress?
I say we use brick, since it's the charismatic thing to do.

That's nice, but what about communal fortress WITHIN floating town?

Also I haven't found any clay yet....

You're thinking too small my friend.
It'd be town-sized, but for good reason!
Each sector would belong to a different player!
And we could add to it as new players join in!

Eventually if the server gets real popular, it'd be a bustling hub of activity!
As everyone'd be based in there, and the pit would become the one-stop-shop for all mining needs!

My sector would probably be one of the higher parts, since you know the old saying, "Only two things like high places. Fools, and smoke.".
And I'm pretty much the joker card of any group I'm a part of.

All right then let's rock.

Going out to desert and making a few camps out for temporary usage. We need all that sand for TNT mania! >:)

Let's build a giant creeper out of TNT, then explode it.
Like, top of the sky to bedrock giant.
this is beautiful btw

also, new map?? cool, i will motivate myself to join in the meantime

If anyone has any spare lapis lazuli, we're trying to build a blue UFO. It's near Sakuya and the other sprites, pretty hard to miss. Just drop it off in one of the chests on it.

You're in luck I just mined some lapis lazuli yesterday.  I'll donate some later tonight.

So psyched for pistons, awesome addition to the game. Only one iron and redstone each, too! Finally, we can make some actually interesting machinery. Fuck, I can probably turn my clock tower into a real platforming challenge now!

However, apparently there are going to be ocean mobs soon. Will my lighthouse still be safe? :ohdear:

I think a diving helmet (iron helm recipe with a piece of glass in the middle?) would be a good addition, improving your air capacity and visibility underwater.
