That's a shitload of obsidian... it crushes my soul just to think about the time it would take to mine it all.
I vote we blow up the world for the heck of it, but back it up beforehand and restore it. Either that, or blow it up and start over on a new map.

No, everyone walks to the west, or take the makeshift rail-line I made to get over there. And make a demolition zone.
If we start on a new map, we have to make that town idea where everyone actually lives together. And does stuff together.

Since no one is in the southern forests in the map (right part) aside from a few, I suggest that be the demolition site.
Otherwise I'll turn it into a Safari Zone/hunting grounds of sorts while most of the outer parts can be lighted.

Let's give it a week or so before we get all happy with our TNT.

And for maximum effect with towns, have everyone start from scratch, even if it is very annoying. Hell, just back up this map for historical archiving and create a brand-spanking new one!

Heres how you get stone.
Punch a tree, grab its bark, And force it to become MORE wood by sheer willpower. Break that wood into even less then the wood you originally made, then put 3 blocks of the good-wood on top of the broken wood. Somehow, You get a pickaxe.
Dig down get stone everyones happy.

Alright then, I'll just destroy the random rail I had over to the west and make a new one to the south.
In a week's time we go stockpile our TNT, and make a creeper in a hole (so that there is actual damage).
Then we see if anyone's computer is tank enough to survive.
Then put this map to rest and make a new one.

DDR seems opposed to this idea according to his MC chat.

If you really want to destroy the world, we need a large network of TNT and redstone hidden just under the grounds of everyone's bases (kind of like landmines and charges), which is activated by a master switch. Though the catch with this is that taller and floating structures (mega-towers, Skye's shrine, ship thing near community base) will prolly still be around.

Here's what I'm thinking. The people with the worst computers take the blows, While the ones with the best watch from afar. By 'afar', I mean 'so far you can barely see a block of TNT' because chances are its going to blow up and hit you from there anyways.

My moms computer is decent, So I'm pretty sure I can watch the blast and take a few pics. But I'd need a forewarning seeing as how I'm never on the server because Terrarias been whoring up all my life.

Also, We're going to be getting this TNT 100% legit right? And who will be the placers/destroyers?

Okay, Here's what I'm thinking.
For the guys who have laggy computers, They hit the TNT, And sign out quickly. Everyone else takes a pic or whatever and watches the glorious explosions that make our inner demomans shudder in ecstasy. After that everyone logs back in and you know we look at the giant beta hole that we made. Except it isnt a beta hole, It's a TNT hole. Like seriously if we dont see any bedrock after the explosion I will be disappoint.
