Creeper raid shelters huh?
My prescription for that? Obsidian!
Your research will certainly save us here! :D

I can't assist yet thanks to lack of diamond pick and materials :(

One problem.
Most of my projects took far more than a single stack.
And for even a small/mid-size shelter, I'd need at least three stacks.

But as long as things go well, I should be able to help with that some....hopefully.

I'm seeing a lot of mentions of needing materials from iron bars to gold bars, from stacks of cobblestone to diamond picks and more. Assume I have a surplus of everything. That said, if you'd like anything for free, just ask below, don't be shy or unnecessarily feel like you're being greedy and I'd be glad to help donate what you need!

EDIT: This doesn't just include material goods, but also projects you'd like some help with. Want a helping hand in clearing out a hill or two? I'm available! Looking for someone to help trail another row of blocks along side you to cut down on the time it takes to build a structure? Look no further!

I have a chestful of cobble, minus 15.
But I'm probably going to use that now I've finally finished my plans for a station.

Why do people freak out about cobble, just use a texture pack that makes it look nice :|

Anyway most of it will be smooth stone, using cobble as a trim/foundation texture. But you need cobble to make smooth stone, so yeah :V

I do wish there was more variety in stone textures to work with. Mossy cobble is in incredibly short supply, gravel is a bitch to work with (and even more of a bitch to fix if you decide you want to rework something), obsidian is very impractical in large quantities, and netherrack has a nasty side effect. I do like sandstone but I think it clashes with regular stone.

I think Minecraft could use some more generic stone varieties (marble maybe?) and I wish metal blocks only required 2x2 in the crafting grid.

The grinder is almost operational thanks to some help from Jaimas. All I need to do is work out the redstone circuit and clear out the torches inside.

Update: I have no idea wtf is wrong with the redstone wiring. If someone can fix it for me, thanks a lot. And don't be a jerk Eraiya.

It used to be a zombie spawner. Should have noticed the dungeon earlier, it was only a few meters away from my staircase...

The grinder is now functional!

Instructions:
1) Go to the center of the frame
2) Keep the switch up to let creeps build
3) Flip switch down
4) Head to the stone alter under the spawner
5) orin.gif

EDIT: You guys are having too much fun with this thing....

It was in chat a while back...either way, it's VERY obvious on the region map (upper-left corner). Also I'll be linking it by overpass - speaking of which, the main loop is now at least 2 blocks wide now, which means less failling. I'm intending on a 5-block design (2 outer walking lanes, 2 inner minecart lanes, 1 middle torch lane), though, over the long term.

Yeah, fence the outside in.
Also, need more exits, since I really can't find many (that isn't suicidal).

Yeah, fence the outside in.
Also, need more exits, since I really can't find many (that isn't suicidal).
Fences will be on the outside (so it'd be seven wide, five accessible, so to say). But this will be for the most popular routes only (namely the loop and a north-south connection). The rest will be 2-3 wide instead without fences, to allow for expansion later if it be needed.

Exits, yes, that is definitely true. Especially in the central area.

I managed to mine 20 stacks of cobblestone earlier today while digging a massive tunnel at layer 40 between my cave base and mega-tower in constuction. They'll go to the latter for the most part, but other than that I'll use them for construction work.

Speaking of massive tunnels, I'm considering complementing overpass with underground accesses too in some areas. Catch with this is that I may run into underground bases by accident (already made another route to someone's 5 x 4 mine shaft in the south by chance).
Found another spider dungeon under the sea too but Kinzo has a string factory already (and we're not even starting on PX's mob grinder). Also I don't think mob spawners are obtainable by breaking them (more barbecues would've been great). and a giant ceiling would be nice but extremely impractical unless I'm THAT desparate for pork and cobble (and water).

Thinking of making a underground railchest system as well. i.e. the subway where you can shift stuff from the, say grinder to the main station.
WHICH I HAVE YET TO BUILD.

First off, welcome to MotK!

Next, thanks for your offer!

Currently I'm building tunnel at Y=40 layer. That may come in handy if we want just a single line for now.

I found a zombie spawner yesterday, had no use for shitloads of feathers, broke it, and got another pig spawner. I'm using minecraft unmodded. Minecraftwiki says it's impossible to place one, but there's been two in my yard so far. Maybe it's my game screwing up.
If DDR has a problem with it, I'll get rid of it.

I tried helping you after you asked for my help. You chased me off. I learn from my mistakes. To me, learning from one's mistake after trying one's best to help a person isn't "being a jerk," it's being rational. I didn't call you a jerk for turning me away after you asked me to help you the first time, so there's no need for you to call me one for respectfully declining your second request for me to help you. Furthermore, there was never any need to bring this up on the forums in the first place when I was right there in-game with you at the time you posted this. Frankly, in addition to your name-calling, that wasn't a very nice thing of you to do, either.

Just a quick heads-up: while it is linked to the overpass, the minecart tracks (middle two lanes - and no, there are no rails yet) run at a lower layer (Y=81 AFAIK) and thus aren't connected to your area. That'll get patched soon.

I found a zombie spawner yesterday, had no use for shitloads of feathers, broke it, and got another pig spawner. I'm using minecraft unmodded. Minecraftwiki says it's impossible to place one, but there's been two in my yard so far. Maybe it's my game screwing up.

DDR - A friend pointed out that, after dying, he ended up spawning on a flaming section of netherrack above/at spawn. Since no one can edit that area but you, could you replace the flames with torches or some other light source that's more user-friendly, please? Thanks for your time!

Skye - Thanks to the overpass coming in direct contact with the ground at several points, to help increase player survivability near spawn, I'd like your permission to raise it up so that it's level with your home, specifically, level with this section of bridge. Eventually, I'd like to help make the rest of the overpass fit along with its smooth/cobblestone theme. Thanks for your time, too!
