Honestly pretty awesome.  It's a very unique way to increase the challenge, but also to increase skill by preventing over-reliance on hit boxes.

So, now that I have the tools to start tinkering with PCB proper, I've now got some motivation to start something I've really wanted to do for a while.



So today I replaced all the bullets, the magic circle (pictured), Reimu's sprites, Cirno, stage 1's ground texture and Letty's spellcard background. Also the name text that goes by the health bar.

This one's going to be a much longer haul though, but I want to take my time with it anyway. Once the first three stages are complete I'll release a version 0.1 or something.

You made a retexture patch for PCB. I wanna have that texture patch right now. But, you used touhou tool kit?

I haven't touched the project for a while, I was just seeing what was possible. PCB is a way bigger pain in the ass for a variety of reason, the first being the huge amount of sprites I'd have to make for bosses (there's about 100), and the second is how PCB deals with textures.

It's not just as simple as plugging larger textures like in EoSD and knowing they'll rescale accordingly. You have to edit a load of scripts that effect their respective images. For example, here's an edited version for Yukari's spellcard background:

There's plenty of variables you can manipulate to gain interesting effects, but because you have to repack the .ecl file and then the .dat every time you make an edit, it starts to feel really tedious after a while.

It's something I still want to do, but it's not something I can just wing through like with EoSD.

And as a bonus, here's something I made a couple years back. PoFV's Tewi boss sprite was the base.
