First off, I am tsundere for Roukanken. That being said, isn't it sad, Alice? ;_;

This is the first Mafia Sign up thread of the new forums. In this thread, people will sign up either for the next mafia game, or to be next in line to host a mafia game. Below is a list of games that will be played eventually, with the top being the most recent game, and the bottom being the last game currently planned. Anyone may sign up to play, but we strongly encourage you play a few rounds before you sign up to Host. Any typos in this post were the previous owner's fault.

Rules for players intending to sign up:
New players we've never seen before: Link a game completed somewhere. Discretion up to the mod of the game.
People who've been lurking: Probably take a look at your general activity and conduct, link to prior experience is also preferable.
People with a bad history: Subject to approval from Godmothers, the current mod and any other management.

Well, on THIS forum I've only played once (or was that twice), but I've played a number of games on two other forums, and hosted two 32-player forum games myself, as well as a number of small ones on IRC. So I have the experience, even though I believe those games have been slightly different on some points than what you've played here. I haven't followed any of the playing here. I may sign up to play as well.

It's sad. I've been looking forward to Yume Nikki mafia for a long while, but considering I've needed to have been replaced two games in a row I don't think it's a good idea to sign up.

I'm not a very good mafia player so I probably wouldn't do too well in Yume Nikki.

I could comod but I don't think one would be needed. I have no experience in modding but I don't think experience would be needed for comodding. Use me as a last resort if you need one.

What kind of Mafia will Yume Nikki be? Is there a gimmick? Role madness? Open setup? Closed setup? Unique madeup special roles?

Guess I'll explain the details and start the sign up then.
First, the Yume Nikki intro from the old forum's thread:

Anyway, here is a short review, and here's a fan page with available downloads (mind the spoilers though).

The usual Rules of Engagement for Mafia will apply (I'll post them at length in the first post). The setup is closed, but it's not role madness and the roles will be mostly equivalent to the standard Mafia roles with any exceptions detailed on flip.
The main gimmick will be that each Dream (Day) phase will take place in a different Dreamworld, and each one of those will have particular rules that apply to them and affect all players. Those will be things like post restrictions, day length, etc. Some will be just flavor and other might affect the mechanics. The rules will be put clearly, so basically the players are just expected to pay attention to the opening posts.

I initially planned for 12~13 players, but it can be adapted to either more or less.

I never did formally explain myself, did I?

In the spring, I tend to get bad allergies, but not debilitating. What I didn't take into account was that I was already getting too little sleep and doing too much physical work, which resulted in the worst two weeks ever, health-wise. (Had the swine flu happened earlier, I probably would have been a prime suspect...) The fact that I'm already kind of sickly only made things worse too.

I was planning on asking my sister to come in and at least say something, but she was constantly out with concerts and other stuff (her school choir went and performed around the Midwest US for some time, and she went to Springfield, Illinois, for a teaching contest)... So that didn't really pan out either.

Hopefully, my cursed meta will be gone now that I'll be done with school and the start of spring is past... You have my apologies.
