I don't know if they have that yet, but the whole fiesta is 12-4pm.

IMO it was long coming to have some sort of official Thursday shenanigans with a con of this size. Not that I'll probably be down in time as that'd mean MJP completely took off work that day.

Geez, this got more busy after not checking it for a few weeks x_x

Anyway, room's full now, so that's good. I'm getting down to cosplay work, and I should be able to get everything I want done....

I'll be bringing a WHOLE BUNCH of new stuff, including:

Byakuren!
Shou!(FINALLY FUCKING FINISHING THIS)
Jin Kisaragi from BlazBlue!
and Kisuke from Oboro Muramasa!

Also Touhouvania Sakuya too. But I've had that for a while now.

Another favorite DRUNK BRO-TOKON moment of mistaken identity was when I was in my Witches 5 getup with 2 of my partners in crime (not pictured).
We got stopped by a few bros on our way to change out.

I am sad people didn't recognize Eudial, not necessarily because I love Eudial (haven't watched that season in long enough to remember) but mostly because it means they haven't seen S, the best season (that I've seen to completion).

Gosh, I really ought to be thinking about something I could cosplay without losing weight. At least room stuff got sorted out!

Getting work has kinda throw a wrench in the works. I still plan on going despite work beginning a few week before Otakon. I think I have a good deal of leverage because I'm starting a week earlier than I originally expected. I made plans for this a long time ago, too, and I've already watched people get away with a full week off for similar pleasure trips at the start of a position. I don't mind two days unpaid time off, I just wanna go. Still, I'm not very keen on biting the hand that feeds me right from the get-go. It's very rare for me to miss work in general.

It might not be that crowded given the high caliber of the American voice actors and the Jrock fashion show thingy which is all the rage or something.
Well I mean not that it SHOULDN'T be crowded, but Japanese industry guests tend to not get the mega-crowds.

Probably too soon for a showing of the newest movie of his alas.

isn't everything at Otakon just crowded and has a ridiculously long lone in general? Honestly never been in a line for a director but I know the seiyuu lines tend to be just as long as the American VAs

Hahaha in my brain I had added "except for Japanese VAs and bands those are always crowded" but I do recall reading somewhere, maybe it wasn't Otakon, but how it's like order of magnitude different for the lines for the Japanese director/animator/etc and Vic Mignonanona which was unsettling to a lot of longtime anime fans.

Then again, I think the only year I did the Japanese industry guest autograph thing was 2003 and I don't remember the line so it must not have been that crazy. That was also the year with TM Revolution which was huuuuuuuuge so that might have diluted the lines :V

Well, looks like I'm not going. Need to be in town on weekends for the next four months to check in on my jury duty status. Sure, the chances of actually getting called into a trial are slim considering settlement ratios and all that shit, but yeah... :V Just in case. Being a part of the legal process or a bit of geekery? Otakon is all weekend. You at least don't have to worry about Saturday and Sunday, right? And if you get called on early in the week, you're safe. Well, in the end, it's up to you. We'll miss ya

Friday - 9PM - Indoor Fountains (you know, the big one)

Saturday - 3PM - Third Floor Terrace (spot with great lighting that was moved from last year, accessed from the hallway that connects the main buildings to the skywalk)

First year I'm gonna try to actually pick up my badge early. If I can do that, I won't have to arrive until at least 9 A.M. It beats waking up early just so I don't have to wait in sweltering Baltimore morning heat to get in.
