Seriously, unless I'm missing something, you can only get a single extend by the end of stage 3(?!) Not even CtC is that stingy with them...

Probably need to activate Ghost Mode or something, Touhou is ALWAYS (relatively) generous with resources.

e: By the comments floating around about Stage 3, I can tell that Ms. S3 Boss is about as derpy as beta Ichirin and Yuugi.

The new soul system is quite interesting - so now intentional suicides are going to be a key strategy?

Strange that the illustration style is a lot more simple than that of UFO. On the other hand, I'm kind of liking it a bit (at least for Youmu anyways).

Also, except for activating Youmu's charged shot, what does the Trance button do?

EDIT2: This game is indeed quite easy and slow-going. Bring on the VSync patch so I can play at 75FPS (90 is too much ATM)!

Also, god damn Youmu's shot type is hard! But I have to say I like the "focus to charge" SWORD PLAY ... even if it does feel somehow wrong to use it against the Stage 1 boss.

The fun thing is, you can save yourself when in Hyper Mode by grabbing just the life part you needed to get an extend

Also, you need 10 life/bomb parts. The second life you'll need 15, but I'm not sure if this counts for bombs too

Normal mode is hilariously easy. The amount of opportunities to just hug a boss is just silly.

Youmu's shot type is pretty fun, but Lunatic mode becomes a little unmanageable. It doesn't matter if your hit box is tiny, you still can't get close enough.

SA and UFO's first three demo stages, especially stage 3 were much harder by comparison.

All you people complaining about it being easy clearly didn't try to sightread Lunatic yet. BV Looks like a Lunatic 1cc will be along the lines of UFO, if not tougher. My first attempt with it (and with the game as a whole) was a 3cc - the first stage is pretty managable but the bosses past that are pretty brutal, it's awesome fun.

Hm, dunno, I remember Kogasa and Unzan giving me a hell of a time in the UFO demo on EASY MODO. This one... I kinda breezed through.

(Yes I know about Vsync, and no, it doesn't work in my WINE build.)

Well, it's fun enough in windowed mode that I probably won't even mind.

I don't plan on keeping this in WINE. It's temporary and will be out of the way once my Win7 install gets fixed.

Got used to playing and practising at 75FPS, so when playing 60FPS it seems a bit slow.

I like the new bomb/life system. Sure, it's similar to UFO (and i hated that!) but this time the things you need to collect don't float around like crazy right into a cloud of danmaku.

The game also seems more polished compared to the others for some reason, at least to me.
