That's exactly what I was going for. Ultimately it's not Iku's or Remilia's decision to make. If all she wants in the case of not being accepted is for there to be a memory that she was once there, that doesn't seem harmful to me.

Yeah, her "in case of" requests are fine by me and likely what the islanders would have done autonomously anyway. I'd ask if she wants specific names as a gesture of recognition for each of her individual subordinates, but other than that, it's good to go.

In case it wasn't clear, I'd also like to offer a dance concert at the SDM in recompense totally messing the negotiations up, and also because I want to give that gate guard fairy a second chance by teaching her a few steps and then having her make a quickie appearance on stage.

That stuff's fine by me. I'm still wondering about clarifying the elcetion thing to Remilia, though, because it looks to like she thinks that if she wins, she'll be retaining her current ownership of the islands. It may be a good idea to correct that impression, but at the same time, doing so might result in Remilia deciding she doesn't want to do things that way after all. So, any thoughts?

She acknowledged that if she were ousted she'd have no claims on the islands. She's not stupid, I don't think we have to spell it out for her.

Guy's worry is that she will still consider the islands hers if she gets voted in, which, with that response, I'm actually admittedly a bit worried about myself.

Hum.

Idea in case she doesn't go for it: let her "have" the land on two conditions:

1) No Bhavagrans will ever be denied access to any part of the two islands without reasons deemed justified by the celestials inhabiting that island.
2) The celestials of the island will never be forbidden from forming a council to decide if they no longer wish their lands to live under Remilia's control, and if they do decide such a thing, Fancy Scarlet Wordiness will peacefully honor this request. Historical monuments, of course, will be created to signify if such a seccession takes place.

I gotta go, but it's starting to sound like you're right. I think a direct confrontation would end badly..

There's no question that Remilia's full of shit. I know I've said this before, but my recommendation is to call her out on it. She's not stupid; she knows the things she's saying aren't accurate. So I think we need to call her out on it.

I'm not convinced she's full of it yet. Give me about 25 minutes and I'll present those conditions as I think them best presented. If she denies the second one, THEN I will be displeased.

Got it. *Waits warmly*

Edit: So does that mean that we'll be taking the direct approach if she does deny it? Because if so, I think I've got a few good ideas on how to go about that (and no, it's not the rant I was going on about before).

After all, allegiances may change, but friendships will not. However, any visitor that wishes to use public facilities established by Volatilis Scarlet Regnum after occupation, such as the redesigned orchards you offered as an improvement idea, will need permission from a Volatilis Scarlet Regnum surface dweller, such as yourself or your chief assistant, or permission from a Volatilis Scarlet Regnum celestial deemed trustworthy by a Volatilis Scarlet Regnum surface dweller. In addition, Bhava-Agra will not acknowledge any non-peaceful secession attempts from the citizens of the islands in question, and will seek to punish any Bhavagrans found abusing visiting privileges to try to start such a rebellion."

>Remilia nods along, almost idly. "You may recall that We intended to allow for such freedom of movement," she says. "We have not changed this feeling. However, one point We have to modify. Those seeking to cause insurrections that you have mentioned shall be dealt with by Us. We shall of course allow for a proper trial, in fact We may call upon Bhava-Agra to assist. But We shall administer Our own justice. And we concur, each province shall decide for itself."
