Current Dolphin's attention turns to you immediately, her expression not quite decided yet. More than anything else, she seems confused by your sudden appearance. Komeiji tilts her head as she looks at you, curious.

"You wanna try me, myu~♥? You and me, in a race across the lake. Your friend can take part too if she wants, myu~♥."

Current Dolphin looks over to Komeiji. Rather than being offended, she's just plain puzzled. For once, Komeiji shares her expression, and the pair shrug in unison. Eventually, Current Dolphin sighs and starts stretching.

"...Well, it's not like I've got anything better to do. You're on, kid."

Current Dolphin gets started on a few practice lengths of the lake to get herself warmed up. You won't need anything of the sort for obvious reasons.

Komeiji doesn't join in right away, removing some of her upper layers of clothing to reveal a swimsuit underneath. She walks over to you, much more interested than she usually is in random passers-by. She knocks on your head lightly.

"If I told you to jump, would you ask me how high?"

The only way to respond to her obvious confidence is to fight back with our obvious confidence. Even if ours isn't in our real intent. Even if she can't control our subconcious due to the lack of a physiological subconcious, she'll still undoubtably suspect something is up. But she can't read our mind (she couldn't anyway even if we had a real one) so she has no way of knowing the race is actually a ruse. As long as she doesn't attack (which is extremely likely) we're safe.

Current Dolphin calls Komeiji away, and the satori patters over to the lake to join her. You see her look at you once, but expression suggests confusion more than malice. They seem distracted by practice, so you could easily move in now.

- In the water, you'll be able to beat Komeiji hands down. Besides the fact that her usual mind tricks won't work on you, she's also got the whole 'breathing' thing holding her back.
- Current Dolphin is perhaps more of a challenge. If you take her by surprise it should be enough of an edge to win the fight, or even knock her cold in one hit if you're particularly clever. Otherwise, the fight might be pretty even given your lack of weaponry.

You all lean down and prepare to leap.

With three splashes in unison, you all enter the water!

As per the plan, you allow Current Dolphin to lead the pack, hanging just behind Komeiji. When the distance between you and C.D. is far enough, you hold your arm out towards Komeiji. A small gun emerges and fires a single dart right into the back of her neck.
Komeiji flinches, and gasps for a moment, but the tranquiliser takes effect almost immediately afterwards. She goes limp, sinking into the water and letting off the occasional bubble as she goes down.

"Your friend's in big, big, trouble, myu~♥!"

You catch up to Current Dolphin to pass this on. Looking back, the dolphin confirms that Komeiji has fallen beneath the surface, and makes to dive for her. Both of you dash down to the lakebed. Your opening!

"FOR MOTHER!"

Taking her by surprise just by speaking underwater, you grab Sango from behind and perform your SUPLEX protocol.

First, a German suplex into the rock.

"FINAL!"

Then, a crushing backbreaker.

"ROU-TOMIC!"

Finally, holding her upside down, you leap so far out of the water you witness the curvature of the earth before spiralling back downwards at terminal velocity.

"BUSTEEEEEEEEEEEEER!"

The large amount of water you have to travel through cushions the blow enough for it to not be fatal, but understandably Current Dolphin is now out cold. She's unconscious in your arms, the occasional bubble popping out her mouth, but she's not going to drown any time soon.

On that note, though, Komeiji is down here as well, and she isn't doing quite as well. Unless you either help her to the surface imminently or give her some sort of air supply, she's likely to drown. This isn't a problem for you personally, and indeed it will stop her from interfering in any further affairs, but it will likely arouse suspicion about where Current Dolphin has disappeared to.

Apologies if this has been too slow. I'm gonna try picking up the pace now, so here goes.

You are about to dive back in when you see something in the distance. It would be invisible to the human eye, but to yours this trivial form of deception is of no importance - it is Kawashiro, using some form of optic camoflauge to sneak up on you. She is quickly aware she's been seen.
"Heh...knew there was something funny about you. Now if you do anything funny to my friends, I'm gonna-!"
Nitori chases you, but you're closer to the water. She manages to touch you on the shoulder once before you fall backwards into the lake. Deploying your fins again, you grab C.D. off the lakebed and prepare to flee!

The systems have only started up in the last few days, but they seem have been used at least once before.
> You tell a few of the passing kappa to keep watch by the waterway. They comply, armed with mechanical danmaku devices Mother refers to as 'guns'. Impractically large, and only capable of firing one bullet at a time, but she is working on it.

The consequences would be that Kawashiro knows you kidnapped Current Dolphin...which she already knows anyway. No issue, admittedly.

> After some walking, you find Mother in a strange laboratory. It is simply listed as the Dolphin-Keeping room. It seems that Mother's been preparing for this capture for a while.
As you enter, you see she's working on some sort of cage - human sized. She turns to see you, and her eyes light up.
"Ah, Rou-tan. You're back, and with our favourite little guest!"
She takes the dolphin off your hands, giggling to herself a little. Opening the cage up with a small key, she places Current Dolphin inside and locks it. Afterwards, she uses a nearby machine to lift the cage upwards and drop it into an empty glass tank. You can make out a pipe leading into the tank marked H2O.
"Ah, forgive me if this all seems a little too ornate. I've just been waiting for this for so long...I'm going to make the most of it. I want to talk with her when she wakes up, see the look on her face when I push this button..."
You see a large red button on her control panel marked FLOOD. Notably, there is no equivalent DRAIN button to go with it, or a method of lifting the cage back out of the tank. If Current Dolphin wishes to escape she'll either need to unlock the door with the key Mother's holding [unlikely] or bring the bars apart so she can swim out [equally unlikely].

"...Anyway, let's have a quick debriefing while we wait. How did the mission go? Were there any difficulties? Bugs in your system? I can have them seen to shortly."

You flail around and tell the story in one breath - not much of an issue given you don't really do much breathing.  Mother nods along, but visibly tightens up when you mention the 'kappa lady from the store'.
"You were seen by Kawashiro?! That's not good...though if you lost her, I doubt we have anything to fear. Those tunnels are too complicated for her to find us any time soon."
She nods some more, congratulating her own brilliance more than anything else.
You squee slightly as you snuggle up next to her, asking why exactly you needed to bring her in. Rikako blushes slightly at the gesture, adjusting her glasses slightly.
"A-Ahem. Tororetsu and I have some...history together, frankly. She had me go through various unpleasant scenarios. Rest assured, after this I will be working to find the rest of those responsible for my brief imprisonment. With your help, of course, Rou-tan."

There is a cruel, almost sadistic tone in her voice. Perhaps you're supposed to notice this, but you don't.

Current Dolphin moans in pain when she finally comes to.
"Weird...I just dreamt I got suplexed by a little girl in a swimsuit..."
It takes her a moment to recognise her surroundings, but she doesn't like what she sees.
"P-Phwee! What is this?!"
She reaches out towards the bars of the cage, but they refuse to budge under her grip. Trying another tactic, she reaches into her skirt for something, but can't find it.
"Looking for these?"
Mother walks in front of the tank, holding two cards upwards into the air. Your analysis confirms they are spell cards, and C.D. gasps at the sight of them.
"I took the precaution of taking these from you first. Wouldn't want you to leave my little party early, you understand."
C.D.'s eyes widen. She recognises Mother, and immediately calls her by name.
"Y-You're...Rikako Asakura?! But I thought you were in prison!"
Mother shrugs.
"Oh, I was, definitely. Still, you'd be surprised the sort of explosives you can make out of gardening tools. Those kappa were furious to hear about it - at least, the ones I hadn't already paid off to work with me here."
Mother laughs, heartily but sadistically. You examine this, as usual, without a personal opinion.
Current Dolphin is beginning to look especially nervous as Mother walks back up to the control panel. She pushes the big red button, and water begins flowing out of the pipe. She pulls a brave face with some effort.
"P-Phweee! You're not gonna get away with this, y'know! I'm sure my friends are gonna find this place and kick your a-gggbl!"
The water shuts Current Dolphin up before she can finish her sentence, and she simply resorts to struggling against the cage's bars. She glares at Mother for the most part, but gives you a glance for a moment. You do not pay any particular attention to her.
"...Well, Rou-tan. I'd like you to stay here for now, just in case anything...unexpected happens. Now tell me, have you experienced any unusual faults with your programming? Errors, bugs and such? When I'm done with our friend here I'll be sure to bring you into the lab for a little fine-tuning."

There's a madness in Mother's eyes that even you can appreciate. For a moment her body is completely tense, as if ready to explode.
