Are you not supposed to graze it? That's how I cleared it.

Then again, I only ever played it on Normal. I guess it must last longer on Lunatic.

I'm a Normal mode player, too, so...

Just tried it on Hard, and grazing seemed to work. Maybe I just misjudged my safe distance when I tried it before.

>As best we can, shape the pattern to the following specifications: focus on the region closer to the ground, with primarily horizontal bolts for better coverage of this. Until she demonstrates an ability and willingness to fly, worry less about aerial coverage. Density greatest in the poltergeist's immediate vicinity, with ideally at least one bolt directly through her current position, and another cutting across whatever direction she seems to be moving in at the time
>Fire!

>You send the lightning racing along the ground. The poltergeist is already watching you warily, and cries out when the lines proceeding the lightning fill the air. Then the electricity follows, filling the whole area with arcs of blue light. She is unable to move in time, and the blast sends her to the ground. Quickly, she gets back to her feet, having ended up close to a couple trees.

> Set up another attack in the same vein as the first, but aim adjusted for the poltergeist's new position. In addition, take a bolt previously used to help cage her in and aim it so it follows a path behind the two trees she is closest to, so as to prevent her from escaping by hiding behind them. Don't use a bolt that would give her an easy way out of her current position to do this, though, and don't use any bolts aimed directly at her.

>Fairly badly, but you're reasonably sure this is residual aching rather than new damage.
>You set up a similar attack to the first. She doesn't waste time gawking this time, and moves away from the trees. As the lightning flashes, she stands safely, if a bit snugly, between two of the bolts.

In particular, try to create a small, crude triangle of lines to surround her current position, giving her somewhere between one and two feet from her current position before she'd run into a bolt. In addition to that, fire a bolt straight through her current position, and at least one more through the triangle elsewhere. The remaining bolts should be used to cover the area outside the triangle as best as possible.

Just a question, but it might help, Iku did something similar/equal to this on my most recent run of Reimu's Story mode. And it was a pain to dodge.

>Welcome to my world!!!
>You change up the pattern slightly, inverting the triangle. The lightning flashes; and the Poltergeist ducks. The lightning flies over her harmlessly. However, she did anticipate the orbs. She tries to roll aside, but it catches her in the side.
>The poltergeist's reaction is about what you would expect. She's doing her best not to cry out, but you can see the last few attacks have taken their toll. You doubt she can take another, unless she has some secret she's been hiding.

This time, though, use the bolt that was passing through the triangle to cut off means of escape instead of hit her to come down on her from above, angling in on her from behind. This is aimed at her in addition to the one that's cutting across horizontally and aimed right at her.

Ducking was the point of the coming in at her from above and behind. I'm actually hoping she ducks again, because she'll get fried if she does.

>The ground below you is completely covered.
>You invert the triangle pattern, vary some of the heights of the lightning bolts, and move one to strike from above and behind. As the pattern forms, while the poltergeist stands, she quickly notices one of the lines going through her and moves. She dodges it and mush of the triangle easily and moves past several other bolts, but does not notice one lurking around near foot level. It catches her, and she tumbles to the ground with a strained squawk.
