Congratz man, amazing feeling when you 1CC a game for the first time, I've only 1CCed easy mode twice, both with ReimuA.

The only thing that makes EOSD hard for me is the fact that you only get 3 lives in practice mode. I can't even beat stage 5 in practice mode and its only recently that I can even sometimes beat stage 4. Took me forever to just be able to beat stage 3 on practice mode too >_> (all of this on normal mode mind you, I don't play easy mode for 6 since ZUN decided to be a jack#$% and not include stage 6)

unfortunately no real accomplishments for me lately, though I did manage to 1CC MoF easy mode again. IN and MoF are the only ones that I can consistently (somewhat at least) 1CC on easy mode.

Ah come on. Its not cheating. I got to enjoy the game a lot more because i couldn't blame my deaths on the invisible hitbox. It didn't make the game much easier though.

Don't you just think its something ZUN just didn't think of yet? It makes sense for it to be there like in the rest of the games.

I did found the game to be much easier with a visible hitbox. Predicting your hitbox without actively seeing it is a skill all by itself.
Also, you can't submit highscores if you play with a visible hitbox. :V

Personally I just find EoSD easier without the hitbox patch for some reason (on Normal at least). It makes me a lot less scared to make tight dodges, especially after everyone's complaints about the bullets/knives have made me paranoid.

The retexture patch stays though. :3

How would they know wether you use hitbox patch or not?

We are not supposed to compare the Pachi's and Touhou :V Okay. No, i suppose DDP and DOJ doesn't need visible hitboxes just cause' DFK has it and the same would apply for EoSD. Personally, i just don't find anything wrong with using the patch. It eliminated the number 1 issue i had with the game those two years back when i first played it. Seriously, that patch was a godsend. It made me appreciate the game much more even though it didn't improve my performance much.

I gotta admit, lgb's retexture patch 'don't do this' is kind of silly. :V I do think the game is a little easier with the hitbox patch, though. I'd definitely encourage using it as you're learning the game, but I think you'd want to remove it as you move up to higher levels of play, it's an unnecessary crutch. Obviously there's no way to tell if someone's used it or not, so a rule about it doesn't have any huge bearing in the first place, but I'd encourage not using it for high scoring runs to make them that much more impressive.

I use the retexture patch, but i've never used the hitbox patch. I played EOSD the most when I was still learning the game (figured that because it was the first windows one it would be the easiest...luckily I learned otherwise or I wouldn't be playing anymore :p ) so I got very use to playing without hit box visible. So yeah, I'd advocate not using it so you can get a better feel for it instead of always having to look at it. I only look at the hit box in later games for REALLY tight squeezes.

EoSD was my first Touhou and first bullet hell, and I had no clue the white dot was my hitbox until I read about it on a forum somewhere. I also had no clue what focus mode was, so I always played without focus as Reimu because she's slower than Marisa. I think I was eventually able to 1cc up to Sakuya or something XD.

Anyway on the topic of accomplishments... MoF Hard is out of the way now, with ReimuB. Scored about 290M, which is a bit lower than my Normal high score of 301M, but a clear's a clear. PCB is next in line =3.

EoSD doesn't seem that hard to me...
I mean, it's like the only game I can make it to the final boss with five lives in...

It's all subjective. There may be games where most of us would agree to be the hardest/easiest, but others are really borderline and it's really how you play them that would determine their difficulties, or other points.

But really, there's no need for a visible hitbox. The only time it's important is during SA stage 6.

VSync patch is critical to proper play in EoSD and PCB (and is very useful for the other games as well). All it does is help you play the game properly without the unintended input lag that your computer creates. Never drop it ever.

This may just be me talking, but I've never been hindered by the lack of a hitbox in EoSD. Sure I enjoy the feature, but really, learning where your hitbox is without it being visible helps you to be much more aware of just how much room you have. With all the different bullets and their different hitboxes, your own visible hitbox is less important than learning those invisible ones.

And yeah, vsynch is necessary if you want to play well in EoSD.

PCB Hard cleared =3. Pretty bad run, I think I lost 4 lives to Youmu, but oh well. SA next I guess, since UFO just rapes me inside out.

Ah i finally beat mof extra today. However the run was absolute garbage. I almost captured suwakos last card but i bombed right when she died b/c i was shaking like a crazy. Well im happy with it :V

Yeah, I've beaten that recently too. BUT, I used Marisa B(roken)

I also just recently figured out that the vsync patch for MoF has an option to fix her laser glitch.

FINALLY defeated Byakuren on Hard!! I had no lives no bombs at Flying Saucer and actually captured it!

Got killed by Chiyuri four times. Was on the brink of rage-quitting, glad I didn't.
The weirdest part was when Yumemi went from full health to death in 5 seconds. ...I guess that's Rikako for ya! :V

Then with ReimuA.
Then with SanaeB.
All in less than three tries.

I feel like the game just gave me the captures or something, PSM is supposed to be one of the hardest cards in the series right? :ohdear:

My first 1cc of PCB with max lives is the saddest 1cc I've ever done.

The major derp near the end of stage 4 almost made me rage quit. Then the Youmu fight went 9 kinds of backwards even on the attacks I knew. Then stage 6 midboss Youmu was absolute crap. Yuyuko was just a bomb fest and I still don't know how I died on Swallowtail butterfly. The thing I'm still going crazy about is how I ran to the POC on Resurrection Butterfly after I thought it was over and didn't get hit on the very last wave.
