>"Well, it was mostly a message, actually. I'm running an errand for her, and was reporting back on part of it. But I also have something that's a needed component of a spell she was going to perform for me. Despite how unlikely that might seem from the look of it."
>Show the dress, if asked.
>Present Tenshi's Clothing
>Truth: "I am delivering these as spell components for Patchouli."
>Tuck clothing away before Fairies touch it. "Also, Patchouli has asked me another favor, and I wish to console her on how to complete it. I will likely have to return after completing that favor as well."
>Change "Magician's Invitational" Quest name to "Harbor Witches Coven."  :D

>"Awwwww," says several of the faeries as you explain it was mostly a message. But when you mention the spell component, you are met with a chorus of  "I wanna see!"
>You display Tenshi's Dress. The faeries swarm around it, oohing and aahing, feeling the fabric and appreciating the colors before you can pull it away. After a moment, one of them says, "Okay, you can show it to Patchy."
>"But don't go anywhere else!" another adds
>"Or we'll pitch you a beatin'!"
>What! Why should I change that name. Explain yourself at once!

> Ponder why we do not simply find a portion of the Scarlet Devil Mansion outer wall that is not in the line of sight of the gate and fly over that next time we need to enter the place. These fairies are going to kill us via migraine at this rate.

>That's a good question. There has to be some reason why people don't just skip over the wall.

>That would be breaking and entering.

>This too, unless you got a standing invitation.

>Proceed to the library.

>"Okay good!" says the brown-haired faerie, as two others open the gates for you.
>You proceed to the library. You find Patchouli is where you left her. You notice she has a guest, a young girl in red with crystalline wings. She is sitting at one of the chairs and staring at a book with intensity, while a basset hound is stretched across her lap and serves as a table. The dog looks in your direction and gives a "wuff", wagging its tail lazily.
>Patchouli seems to be studiously ignoring all this.

Suggest:
"I've only spoken with Alice so far, but I do intend to look into the rest of your request. I'm here to drop off those clothes of Tenshi's, should you become curious or have a way of telling whether the attempt would be futile."
(Why did we go back to get the clothes so promptly anyway when convincing Patchouli was a precondition for them to be useful?)
"May I ask who your guest is?"

We also nabbed Byakuren, and it's probably worth noting that we might need some time tracking down the new fellows, as they appear to have left their home.

(Why did we go back to get the clothes so promptly anyway when convincing Patchouli was a precondition for them to be useful?)

We went to everyone who can easily be found at this moment, and I'm hoping us having done part of it will be enough for her to do her bit, as well. She was willing to fulfill her end of a bargain to Maribel before Maribel had even started on her errand. I realize she's less kindly disposed to us, but still. Also, if the spell takes time, she may as well have the dress in advance. We have no easy way to find any of the other four people, yet, keep in mind. We lose nothing by asking, at this point, even if she says no.

Feel free to ask about Flandre, if you wish.

>"I've delivered your message to Alice and Byakuren. Renko and Maribel were away when I went to their home. I suspect they're exploring Bhava-Agra, but have no idea where to find them. I'll return again later. Marisa is likewise out and about somewhere."
>"Byakuren said she'd definitely be at the proposed meeting. Alice seemed interested, but grew more reluctant once she learned the other people who would be invited. Still, she said she'd consider it."
>"Also, I have retrieved the dress I mentioned."
>Produce it

>Patchouli nods. "Hmm. I'm not terribly surprised Alice is reluctant. As for Maribel and Renko, knowing them they'll be getting into some kind of trouble together."
>"They're so cute!" the blonde girl adds.
>"Byakuren, I am a little surprised. I suspected that she would be more reluctant. Perhaps she does actually think well of me?" The magician shrugs. "No matter. I'm sure you will find the rest with time."
>She glances up as you mention the dress. "Hm. So you have. Might I ask what you wish to be found?"

>"And may I ask who your guest is?"

>"That would be young Lady Scarlet," says Patchouli.
>"Hi, I'm Flandre!" she says, beaming at you.
>"Who is supposed to be in bed right now," Patchouli continues, giving Flandre a look.
>"I can't sleep, it's too quiet with all the maids outside," says Flandre. "And It's getting close to time to wake up anyways, so nyah!"
>"Hours from now is not close at all," says Patchouli.

>You bow and introduce yourself to Flandre, and say it is goof to meet her. "Hi!" says Flandre. She gestures toward the basset on her lap. "This is Elise! She's my doggy! And what's it like in the Sky? Patch-patch says it fell. I wanna go see, but she says I can't until the sun goes down." Flandre wrinkles her nose at this.
>"Yes, what exactly are you looking for?" asks Patchouli, frowning. "General direction, altitude? Which she is right now, where she was? Precisely where she is in relation to some other point? Are you looking for some other sort of information on top of this?"

>"Fine," says Patchouli. "Petite!"
>You see the bat-winged Makaian you noted from your first visit poke her head up over the top of a bookcase.
>"Bring me the copper brazier, some moxa incense, and the herbs in the green and gray pouch, please. Don't give me any lip, and I'll take a day off your punishment."
>"Deal!" says Petite, as she zooms off.
>As they have this exchange, you introduce yourself to the Basset Hound. Flandre giggles.
>The girl nods as you explain things in simple terms. "Is it really a problem?" she asks.
>"Now," says Patchouli, looking back at you, "what useful things can you tell me about Tenshi to make this less irritating?"
