Have you tried firing those yet (obviously back up your world first) as in my experience that configuration of cannon doesnt work anymore. I had to make mine twice that size to get the TNT to link to the redstone.

It depends on which direction the cannon is facing. After a few test I noticed that TNTs always nudge to the east when activated. So if there is water to the east something blocking it then the cannon is fine.

nonono thats not what I meant, but very useful information that'll stop my cannons blowing to peices.

I mean I've not been able to get TNT to blow up by adjecent redstone wires, only wires feeding straight into the TNT appear to work.

I dunno if this is a result of the haloween update maybe...?

I believe I remember something like that being mentioned regarding the update.

In other news, I can't connect to any multiplayer servers without lolcrashing three seconds later. That includes my own (yes, I updated runecraft :v). If I can connect long enough to verify everything's still in working order, I might open up my server while I dick around in singleplayer.

All of the 6 TNTs that are adjacent to the redstone wire were armed for me. Here is a closer image of the cannons, just in case.

Good news: Got my server working
Bad news: I can't connect to it without crashing, or any other multiplayer server for that matter

Not hosting atm, but everything appears to be in working order. Switched over to hey0's mod instead of whatever wrapper I had before so I could have a "gui" of some sort (by gui I mean command prompt :v).

So apparently Minecraft can't handle 317,480 blocks of tnt blowing up at once. Who knew.

I think around 15,000 might the most it can handle. But the game will be laggy as hell while they're exploding.

Also, it's tough making a good people-cannon.

And speaking of cannons, I'm realizing quickly that I don't know how to extend redstone circuits that are wired to a button.

EDIT: Spend hours building a 42-TNT cannon, have it break due to misfire, end up accidentally saving because your finger slipped when turning down the volume after forgetting how loud it would be. FML

Gonna try a prototype cannon design, where everything is loaded in a single frontal one-column spiral. The idea is that all the explosives will be point-blank against the projectile-to-be, which should increase flight distance even with less blocks overall.

...that's the plan, anyway.

Ahaha, made a completely different prototype cannon. It's at bedrock level, faces east, and only uses 32 blocks of TNT. This is what the first launch looked like:

Loading a brand new map into my server.

Good news: There is every type of terrain possibility you could imagine. I've spent the past three hours just wandering around, because there's just so many beautifully generated areas.

Bad news: None of the really cool places have good accomodations when it comes to making houses in an area. :<

After I get something figured out I'll start actually hosting again.

So so so I got Minecraft today.
I spawned in an area filled with sand. Not too many resources = Rough first day. I saw cacti and freaked out because I thought they were all creepers. I met a creeper for real later on. I was curious about what the sizzle sounded like and ended up getting hurt.
At night I holed myself up in a mountain. Hearing the music come back up, I safely assumed day had returned. I opened a hole in my wall, but that section was unfortunately very shady, netting myself a hit or two from a skeleton. >:[

So the really crazy stuff people make like the SDM... They make those in Classic mode or something?

There are hacks that let you spawn materials or/and you can set the difficulty to peaceful and there are no monsters.

The first cactus I saw scared the hell outta me. Then I wondered why the 'creeper' wasn't moving. Then I took the cactus. Now I have a nice cactus in my house. :V

Also health is coming to SMP, as well as PVP. I'm going to have to add a battle arena to the skytown that I'll have in my new map. :V
