I've only played Multiplayer on Classic, is the Multiplayer different in the Alpha? What does your server have?

EDIT: Also, is it possible for a map to break after an update? I was thinking of making Gensokyo but if the maps might break after an update I'll just wait until after it's finished

Just finished reskinning the bow and arrows (elemental arrows from mods included) into Patchy's book and various spells. :V  Even the arrows when fired are remodeled as green crystals, though skeleton arrows remain the same.

Wait, what?  I don't remember putting any gold anywhere.

Your server's at 24.197.176.245:27015 right?

I joined there and there was some floating islands, some diamond armor in a chest, and a sign that said "DO NOT RIGHT CLICK GOLD BLOCKS". The gold blocks were in the middle of these strange formations made out of cobblestone and bookcases.

I can't connect anymore, else I'd take a screenshot.

oh right that

It's just the gold block there; you saw that crater that block was in?  That and the surrounding landscape was burned out with solar  flare runespam :V

Just finished playing tf2 so I'll start the server up again.

Also I started making a Hourai skin, then realized that the monochrome, detailless doll will just end up being a red block with a head. :V

The Halloween update is great.  The new blocks are all useful (I made an illuminated underwater house, shown below), and hell's a load of fun.

Also, I made a Sanae skin last night.  I should probably make the hair longer.

I was making the Hakurei Shrine for the Gensokyo World I was making, but my game crashed and the game updated when I logged back in. The Biomes screwed up my project and now Gensokyo is an island surrounded by many desert islands. I guess I'll use a map editor to fix it, but it won't look as natural. Unless I keep creating a new world hoping I get a good place that would fit in for Gensokyo and then copy paste the Shrine into it.

Oh yea, about the Halloween update. Frickin' Ghasts! Stop swimming in lava! Your cry is the scariest thing I've heard ;_;

EDIT: I wish the portal tiles wasn't hardcoded into the game, I wanted to make Yukari gaps

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.  It's just another block like everything else.

EDIT: Okay you might be right, I couldn't find it anywhere in minecraft.jar

On the other hand, I did discover that the skeleton, zombie, and pigzombie skins all fit the player perfectly. :V

Touhou

Oh man, that SDM puts the one I made to shame.

I saw that video yesterday and lol'd hard. It got me building my own cannons as well. They have a sort of 50/50 sucess rate of either fire or blow to smithereens. I think something got changed somewhere along the lines as you have to set them up a bit different to how they are in the videos to work. Also started making logic systems, and use one switch for my cannons with a delay so I only need press once.

My attempt- (posted first pic in another thread)

Newer more powerful cannon, the for some reason when i tried to take a screenie decided it'd shit its guts this time

I think I'd be interested in giving your SMP server a go. I only just found out now that there was a minecraft thread here.

I just finished the Hakurei Shrine, sort of.

The shrine's gate

The shrine itself, I think it might be too big

The donation box

The inside of the shrine, I might need to hire an interior decorator

Genjii's pond

The small house at the back, this will be used as a waypoint for the Runecraft mod

I'll let you know when Runecraft gets updated, then.  Since the current Runecraft conflicts with the Halloween update I can't host until that gets fixed. :<

Awesome.  I should locate a good mountain top for a Moriya Shrine.

It'a probably gotta be a huge mountain. Youkai mountain also has the Tengu Village near the top, Kappa Village near the bottom, and the Underground entrance. We could try to get people to help us make other key areas of Gensokyo so we can then put them together with a map editor. I was thinking of making the Palaquin Ship next but the wiki says that it was turned into a shrine near the Human village. Maybe I could make both the ship and the temple and have a teleporter in the temple that takes you to the ship.

and the Underground entrance.

Would this also entail adding Parsee's bridge, the Ancient City, the Palace of the Earth Spirits, and Utsuho's playground?

I haven't gotten too deep into Minecraft yet, but I'm not sure you'd be able to fit all that in the space between ground level and the void below the map. :ohdear:

We can scratch off Utsuho's playground from the Underground since I was thinking of making a portal to The Nether Old Hell inside Satori's house.

I think there might be enough space to fit all that, though most of it will probably have to be done in a map editor.

I was really only going for the shrine and the lake on a mountaintop, not an entire rendition of the mountain.  I'm not even sure if there'd be space on the map for that. :v

Throwing them all together in a map editor sounds cool, though.

On that note, a cloudtop house for Iku could be made near the mountain too. :v

I'm sorry if it seems that I'm asking for too much, it's just that I think it would be really cool to have a server with the World of Gensokyocraft. I'll probably try to do most of the work anyways.

If I'm not mistaken there's multiple Gensokyo servers on creative.  I remember watching my friend screwing around on one where he found the Sanzu river at the bottom of the map, eventually leading to Shikieiki's office.

Of course, creative is lame, survival is where it's at.

The only one I saw was a server with random giant sprites all over the place. Despite being called Gensokyo, the only Gensokyo I saw was Touhou sprites, and the other half of the sprites weren't even Touhou.

And you're right, survival is better since all of the updates are for Alpha and not Classic.

Me and Chennel2 here build a pretty damn fine hakurei shrine on a mountain with SA underneath it on one of the creative servers. Its been down for a while though, and I never took any screenies of it :I

server keeps popping back up apparently but I haven't been online when it does.

Got the game. Can't run it. Can't even run skinedit. My Pcs java script is a mess and doesn't meet the requirements.
I'm gonna throw it on my brother's pc without him knowing.

Behold my First skin

Can't really see the detail on that site, but I can't get skinedit to open again.
