Looking at 1st post, it is likly tied to the Instant Win spell, like as a pre-req, and could even be it. I don't want Succubus Manor to end yet, so if we get the Insta-Win spell soon, let's hold off.

I had my suspicions about that as well, so I knew that we should wait.  I still wanna see what happens though.  :3

Regarding the hot spring:  because it's a cast spell to create it, dies it count as our building phase or our spellcasting phase?

So we can build something else with it?  Hmmm... so the only other things we can build are the Expanded Atlier, and the Resturant.  I think we should hold off on building something this week for something bigger next week.

Research Control Weather, then research metal mastery, then reseach razorvine, then fire mastery, then Improved defense tower.

>Have Ferra give Sakaki's axe some maintanence.

If this is invalid, then have Kirala practice gem cutting.

Week 18 Results

Research Phase

You learn Control Weather.

Yuki: "Finally.  Now I just need to know when summoning a hurricane will be useful...."

Learned Control Weather.  For 60 mana you can create any weather in an area.  You are NOT protected from this weather.

Metal Mastery: 203

Yuki: "WHY IS THIS SO HARD!?!?"

Spells:

Yuki: "One hot spring coming up.  And damn can I use it."

Marie: "Indeed."

Mai: "I'd cast it but... ice spells."

Hot Spring created

Helepolis: "Hey I got plans for a spa from Apophis!

Special Actions

0) Joan - Get trained

Joan: "Aha!  This is easy!"

Joan levels up for 100 gold worth of training materials.

1) Eskarina - Commit SCIENCE, on a more reasonable basis

Eskarina: "Gentlemen, BEHOLD!  My latest creation!"

Yuki: "It looks like a tuning fork."

Eskarina: "Indeed!  But with this tuning fork I can level an entire mansion.  Like..."

Yuki: "NO!"

67
It cost $202, but you now have a device that will make the next invasion event cry.  A great deal.

2) Cassia - Capitalizm ho?

Cassia: "Hm...  If we sell off wood to here, and get crops from there, we can...."

56
Lost 5 gems, gained 100 iron, $50

3) Hibachi - Book hunt for Marie

Hibachi: "Hey this one isn't obsolete."

Marie: "Oh!  I can use these spells."

81
For $138 Marie learned how to cure devils at the start of the week.

4+5+6+7)Helepolis, Chou, Elminia, and Glenda - pamper Yuki

Helepolis: "Did that help reduce the pain?"

Yuki: "Yes indeed.  I can't feel any pain at all."

Elminia: "Have some soup Miss Yuki?  Elminia thinks this blend of spices should suit you."

Yuki: "It's excellent."

Glenda: "Would you like me to do another poetry recital, or bring you another recording of one of my plays."

Yuki: "A recording for now."

78,84,38,88
Reduced stress by 25.  No stress gain this week.

8) Kirala - practice gem cutting.  (Sakaki doesn't let her tools fall into disrepair.)

Kirala: "Hm... Let's try onyx this time."

45
Gain +3 gems.

Quote from: Fluff
Yuki stretched and absently scratched at the scar on side.  She probably shouldn't do that, but Marie's magical healing had gotten her back in fighting trim pretty much.  And there was no chance of the scar becoming permanent so long as she kept getting the treatments.

Besides today was her first day completely free of supervision.  That was something to celebrate.

She frowned slightly at the knock on her door.  "Yes?"

Surprisingly it was Mai who walked in.  In her normal fashion she didn't speak, just held up a paper.

"Hm... let's see."  Yuki glanced at the paper then smiled.  "A festival?  I like the idea but why?"

Mai just smiled.  Fortunately Elle came in.  "Oh! I see you saw the paper Miss Yuki."

"Yes, Elle.  Do you know why it's being thrown?  We still have a week of drought according to Eskarina."

Elle smiled.  "Well apparently the food Heather's been pulling in, as well as from the surrounding farmlands affected by your rain spell prevented there from being a serious famine.  So the festival is thanking the kami for that."

"Huh."  Yuki looked at the paper and shrugged.  So they'd saved the day.  Who knew.

"Well I guess we'll have to break out the yukatas.  And order new ones for you devils.  Those old ones won't do."

Elle literally jumped for joy.  "Hurray!  Thank you miss Yuki!"  She then ran off, presumably to tell the others.

***

The festival was almost a normal affair.  Almost in that this time there was a constant crowd of devils around her.  Admittedly most of them were off running about in smaller groups, but there was always three or four devils at her side.  And that got her looks.  The odd looks were annoying, but the respecful ones we're fun.

For that matter she was surprised how many people knew the devils.  Ruby ran off somewhere with a werewolf martial artist at some point, and Hibachi knew half the merchants.  Even Elle seemed to know some of the temps helping at the booths.

Still in the end Mai and her just did festival things.  Ate takoyaki, caught goldfish (for the moat this time) and drew their fortunes.  Yuki got 'little luck', while Mai didn't say anything, but just tied it to the tree.

After they toured the festival a few times they moved to get the best view of the fireworks.  Which happened to be on top of their mansion.  They spread out picnic blankets and started drinking as the fireworks began.

It was awesome.

As the show ended Yuki stretched and continued sipping a fine mixed drink that "Shotglass" hadn't yet named, Yuki smiled.  "I could get used to this."

"Miss Yuki..." Yuki realized the danger a second too late.  Two hands slipped inside her yukata and groped her.

The next second of course she'd flipped the devil off the roof towards the hot spring.  She'd gotten used to that too.

Just before Maya hit the water she yelled "Pay up!"  Yuki turned to see Marie sigh and hand Cassia some coins.

"What was that about?" she asked simply.

Marie shrugged.  "I was sure you weren't wearing the yukata traditionally."

Yuki rolled her eyes.  "You know you could have just asked."

A soaked Maya flew up to the roof again.  "But then we couldn't bet on it!"

Yuki simply shrugged and waved "Shotglass" over to get her another drink.  "Whatever.  Anyway I hear Eskarina's got a fireworks display of her own ready...?"
Event:[/b]
Festival!  Morale +3, Stress -3.  The devils (and you) spend 319 on stuff.
No devils are restless.

Damn, wood, you scary.

So oops I figured we'd be able to build the Artificer's Forge soon but I missed the proper gem cost. TEEHEE

Okay. I kinda do want to build something this turn, but I don't want to spend more than 100 iron to do it, and I want to spend as few gems as possible. Intriguing prospects:

- Outdoor baths: I'm naturally curious, and the last time we took a chance on a stated unknown (Butler) it paid off pretty handsomely.
- Ranch: I would have brushed this off as "meh just more money" but the prospect of raising that "+15 to all income sources" modifier actually is somewhat tantalizing given the number of income sources we have.
- Wine Cellar: Very curious to see what Elspeth could do at a higher level. More special actions?

IcedFairy: I've probably asked this a million times, but how can we raise Sakaki's level further? Clever use of special actions, or is it all random praying from here on out?

Probably want to pump all our research into Metal Mastery.

Idly tempted to send Sakaki out with Hibachi on a wood run but eesh, those prices. Nagging feeling that we should try another joint Alouette/Elle/Cassia effort to generally organize the office. Since Fire, Metal and Water are listed, we could have Mai try to research Wood Mastery for us.

Ferra making her tools from the Artificer's Forge will give her a guaranteed level.  After that it's mostly in the hands of the RNG.  Though there are a couple more indirect ways of getting large supplies of wood hidden in the other buildings.

Gems convert to lots of the other building materials, so lets build that up.

Build an expanded Atelier so that we may have more gems to convert to building materials. Cast Foundation and dig on it.

Make a gem.

Ruby go seek out gems.

Hibachi seek books on gem cutting.

Kirala practice gem cutting.

Research metal mastery.

Mai research a spell

Maria trains

Apophis tries to improve herself.

Joan Trains.

Maya trains more.

All of this sounds good as gems are by far the hardest resource to obtain a lot of.

It's true that gems are the hardest thing to come by, but we also don't use as many of them at a time. The highest number of gems a given structure needs is 90, whereas we need up to 900 Wood for other structures.

1 gem costs $126, while 1 wood right now costs $52, so 1 gem is worth just a little bit over 2 wood. In terms of mana, the mana spent on 1 gem would be spent on 4 wood. In the face of some structures costing 10 times as much wood as gems, I would rather focus on wood-gathering via special actions as much as possible, as it's "cheaper" to buy/make gems.

Rather than books, let's have Hibachi seek out gem cutting tools.

Also, I get the feeling all these training orders are wasted actions, given they usually don't work. Rather than just "trains", we should be saying how they train. Sometimes, Read a Book; however good hiphop it may be; isn't the answer.

Let's send out Apophis around the city to investigate other kinds of architecture, for instance.

This is how you do it. Add some flavor text, and it's more likely to work than just saying trains to level up.
