Yeah, build the Casting Chamber, definitely.

Sounds like we're giving Eskarina the week off to rest up.

I'd suggest finishing research into Money Trees (or at least trying) and dumping the rest into something else that affects our building materials, preferably with the intent of making them more efficient. Any ideas?

I say build casting chamber, put all research into defense tower, we don't really need money right now. We should use our mana to name the bartender and enhance Eskarina, gotta research more. Give Ruby a rest too.

I agree with all of this, although maybe we should name the Bartender something else. Like Cheers.

We should give Elle something to do to relieve her restlessness.

Lastly, I think we should research Defense Tower, this week and pour the rest into Money Trees.

I have a quick question...  Just out of curiosity is it possible to obtain more Devils somehow?

Currently you've got 2 special actions* and the Bartender has no majority for a name (Shotglass and Moe each have 1 vote)

1 - Hunt down a Gem Mine
2 - Get a massage
(Having Mai cast a spell is flavor and doesn't need an action, and Ruby will auto rest unless called up)

Have Hibachi buy 10 Iron. If Ferra is not required for Casting Chamber construction, send Ferra with her to make sure she gets quality goods.

Have Glenda and Maya go out and put on a show somewhere.

Have Elle generally organize the office - paperwork, supplies, etc. Have Alouette and Elspeth assist her.

Have Cassia research ways we might be able to bring the market price of wood back down.

Might want to consider asking Heather to plant fruit-bearing trees eventually, as they might give us an income boost from time to time and they wouldn't need to be replanted.

Also we should assign Waitress to establish some kind of cafeteria/canteen for the Devils.

Makai doesn't have standardized measurements, but Magicians do, and since Magicians buy a lot of random goods everyone just uses that standard.  So you won't have to worry about being cheated due to unit conversion.  You just have to be worried about being cheated because you're buying from devils.

Week 12 Results

Building Phase

Sakaki: "Gentlemen, Behold!"

Yuki: "If there's corn there I'm going to have to set you on fire."

Sakaki: "Sheesh, so Paranoid.  Anyway the chambers all set up.  We might even be able to build a Tower over it.  Don't know if that helps though."

You built a fine casting chamber.  With it focusing the ambient energy you gain 50 mana.

Research Phase

You researched the Money Tree spell
1 gem and 5 mana become $5 income


Yuki: "That doesn't seem cost effective.  At least we don't have to wait for the trees to grow."

Yuki: "Wait a minute..."

Can research Rapid Growth

Bartender smiled.  "Simple.  We keep both my true name and my common name secret and I go by a third alias."

Yuki gazed at the devil.  "That's terribly overcomplicated.  I like it.  Mai, you do the naming, and I'll do the strange confusing part."

Mai looked back and forth at the two, the shrugged and finished the spell.  The other magician said something during the blast, but Yuki couldn't make it out.

After Yuki was sure the magic had died down she walked forward.  "Okay, how about you call yourself 'Shotglass' at the bar and pretend your real name is 'Moe?'"

Bartender thought about it for a while.  "That works."  Then she smiled and pulled out a bottle.  "So let's celebrate with body shots!"

Yuki smacked the devil upside the head.  "Not a chance.  Get the top shelf stuff, then we'll talk."

Mai shook her head again.
Spells:
You name Moe, or "Shotglass" or something.  You might be drunk.
As a named devil her level is automatically increased by one.  For naming a devil, Morale and Max Morale have increased by 5.

"Shotglass"   Bartender    1   +$25 income.


"Shotglass" - "I'd probably do much much better if I had a bar to tend."

You open a portal to the scrapyard.

Mai: "I hope nothing wanders through."

Lost $57 gained 10 iron.

4 - Waitress - Get a canteen going

Waitress: "Well if we move that here an this there...  Wait the doors blocked then."

Failure.

Waitress: "Sorry!  Maybe if I had a name...."

5: Glenda - Takarazuka work

Glenda: "You could join too Mis Yuki.  I've got the perfect roles for you and Miss Mai."

Glenda makes an additional $87

6: Elle - Organize the office

Elle: "Waitress!  What are you doing?  And get back here and fill out an expense report Glenda!  Don't just toss the money on the table."

Failure.  But no stress for you because that's her job~!

7: Cassia - Fix the economy.

Cassia: "At least we're dealing with it before it's totally broken."

Wood prices have normalized.

8: Get a Massage

Helepolis: "Ah sorry about the noise last week...."

Yuki: "Mrph, it's okay...."

10 stress has gone away.

Vivit attacked!  She beat you in the end, but you forced her to continue.

This was all danmaku, so no one was actually hurt.  Morale increased by 2

Name Devil - 100 mana - Special: You must name the devil. - Pick an unnamed devil.  That devil gains the name you desire and 1 level of skill immediately.  In addition, named devils are far more likely to succeed at special tasks and add to defense.  Named devils may gain other special abilities as well.
Create Money - 1 mana - Creates $2
Create Wood - 5 mana - Creates 1 wood
Create Iron - 10 mana - Creates 1 iron
Create Gems - 20 mana - Creates 1 gem
Charm Devil - 10 mana - Removes negative mental effects from a devil.  Costs morale.
Cure Devil - 30 mana - Heals a Devil of any physical condition. Nameless devils cost 1 gem more.  Removing Death costs 5 gems more.
Enhance Devil - 50 mana - Doubles Devils effectiveness at the cost of a week of exhaustion.  Only affects named devils.
Empower Gem - 1 gem 100 mana - Gives you 50 mana to use later.
Money Tree - 1 gem, 5 mana - Ads 5 income
Planar Portal - 10 gems 50 mana or 15 gems 100 mana - Creates a portal to a location inside/outside of Makai.

Special Actions - Maximum 7 - Limit one per devil/magician
Stress Relief - Helepolis.  Removes d10+5 stress.
Grind levels - Ruby.  Helps (slowly but safely) level Ruby and gets random drops.
Dance Party - Requires Dancer, Bartender.  Devils do not become bored at the end of the week.  Morale may be gained, and stress may be gained or lost depending on RNG.  This party costs d4 * 4d10 in cash.  Butler can decrease the multiplier.
Fight Crime - Mai.  This weeks event is canceled and reduces notoriety.  Mai and Yuki may be injured.

We should do something with all our money, I propose Hibachi buy lots of books preferably on smithing. Ferra should probably go with her.

What are the effects of researching new attacks? Do they only affect our personal ability or can Joan and Ruby take advantage of this?

Shouldn't Ferra's production be increased to reflect the easier access to the scrapyard?

I propose the planting of 10 money trees. even though we have quite a bit of cash it seems we still don't have enough to buy the materials to construct anything we can't already construct.

Ruby should look for a gem mine.

Personal ability, but that factors into defense and other matters.  For example considering how poorly I rolled for Vivit it's quite possible New Attacks would have made her game over even with continues.

Ferra's forge can't handle the workload.  The Foundary could, so creating it will actually raise Ferra's level by 2.
