I'm fine with the name Hibachi.

Since we seem to be good for now, I say we pour all of the research into Patchy's stuff this week.

Also, requesting Dance Party so that Butler can decrease the money spent, thus having work to do.

Agreeing with the action of having Ruby hit up a place for books that may come in handy, and if possible, have it incorporated into her Level Grinding action.

Lets not build anything this week so that we can save up the wood for later.

Apparently, Thomas the Tank Engine isn't one to take crap from anyone.

* Name Merchant [whatever]
* 100% focus on Patchouli Research
- Merchant -> Buy wood
- Ruby -> Find books
- Chou/Waitress/Butler -> Dinner party

Hmm...what do we want to build next? That Casting Chamber is mighty tantalizing but mighty expensive. The Library or the Farm may be better to take care of first. Suggest Special Action priority be placed on Sakaki, Ferra and Eskarina, as obvious as they are as choices. Mayhaps they can work together to try to discover more efficient ways of using building materials?

Maybe ask the Artisan to make some neat around-the-house objects to raise Morale slightly, though that could cost us Wood, I guess.

Elle and Cassia could probably be asked to work together on paperwork.

Probably want the Farmer to give it another shot. I think she's actually the next best bet for naming after the Merchant. Her or the Artisan.

I'm trying to think of a way to put Glenda and the Dancer together for gathering income and failing.

* 100% focus on Patchouli Research
We aren't even halfway done with it, we've got like 20 more weeks before it's due, we should research things that can help us first.

The spells available are more stepping stone-y then useful, but lets go and research Create Iron for now I suppose.

Purvis:We have like, half the wood needed, no way that's happening this week. Maybe next week.

I was actually thinking of the Dance Party because the Butler seems to have a more direct connection to it.

Hmm...what do we want to build next? That Casting Chamber is mighty tantalizing but mighty expensive. The Library or the Farm may be better to take care of first.
Also, I say we should go for the Library next week because of all the research we have wanted the Devils to do.

Suggest Special Action priority be placed on Sakaki, Ferra and Eskarina, as obvious as they are as choices. Mayhaps they can work together to try to discover more efficient ways of using building materials?

EDIT:  I just realized, we should also include Apophis in there because being an architect she might also have some insight into the issue.

(Brief check in during my journeys)

Level grinding is only if you don't have something useful for Ruby to do, or if you want to focus on leveling her instead of getting stuff.

Also leveling devils (Like what you want to do for Apophis) via special actions is possible, but hard and expensive.

Do they gain XP normally in the course of their duties, or does it take special effort devoted only toward gaining XP and leveling to improve them?

Ruby is the only one that has XP.  The rest level with buildings and spells.  I actually didn't intend for special actions to be able to raise their level, but after some thought I decided not to close any doors.  If you think of something cool and the RNG smiles it shall happen.

What does it cost to have them do this research and/or practice  as a combination of special actions?

Something similar to a building.

Edit: I'm sorry to do this but there's no way I can properly handle even this light week today, and tomorrow is going to be hard on me.  I'll see about Sunday morning, but the way things are here I'm not sure if I can promise that.  I'm not going to half ass it though so you can expect the full writup when I do pull things together.

I also agree on this.

If we have not named the merchant yet, I vote Hibachi.

For the sake of avoiding an issue before it can come up, Yuki needs a massage to lower her stress. Not highly important, but we may as well if we don't hit 7 actions.

- Name the Merchant Hibachi
- Put 50% Research effort into Create Iron and 50% into general Patchy work

1) Send Ruby out to find gems.
2) Send Hibachi out to buy wood.
3) Have Dancer, Bartender and Butler organize a Dance Party.
4) Have Elle and Cassia streamline some more paperwork. If this gets tedious for them, have them focus on hunting for loopholes that could save/make us money instead.
5) Have Sakaki, Ferra, Eskarina and Apophis work together to research improving building material efficiency.
6) Have Helepolis give us another massage.
7) Have Farmgirl do some more farming now that she actually has a farm. If we can ask for a specific crop, request wheat.

EDIT: derp we already know Create Wood

Week 6 Results

Research Phase

Yuki: "Hm... It shouldn't be to hard to turn gems to iron.  Or for that matter to give wood iron's toughness."

Yuki: "For that matter, now that I know the properties of iron better, I think I can work on some artificer stuff.  Like making a artifact foundry, or building defensive turrets.  Too bad the house can't support those yet."

Research for Patchouli - 35

You learn Create Iron.  You can get 1 iron for 10 mana.

Quote from: Fluff
The well dressed devil was nearly hopping in place on the mystic circle.  Yuki wondered if she should be worried about how eager the rest of the devils were to get names.

She shrugged.  So long as they were busy nothing big should come of it.

Yuki closed her eyes then cast the spell, opening them as she gave her proclamation.  "I name you Hibachi!"

The little devil smiled widely.  "Thank you Miss Yuki!"  She looked down at herself then twirled around before bounding over to her mistress.  "I feel great!  Hey, can I go to the markets?"

Yuki carefully watched the devil for signs of amorous ambition.  "Sure, but why?  We don't really need much."

"There's a 50% discount of vengeance today," the merchant said with a evil grin.

Yuki frowned.  "I know you're annoyed about that robbery thing, but I don't want to start a gang war or something over that."

Hibachi sook her head.  "Don't worry.  I know how to pick my battles."

Yuki sighed.  "Fine then.  Go.  But take some friends with you just in case."

"Thank you!"  Hibachi blew Yuki a kiss.  "I'll be sure to buy you a present while I'm out."

Yuki sighed as the devil left.  "I think I should call Helepolis."
Spells:
You name Hibachi.  As a named devil her level is automatically increased by one.  For naming a devil, Morale and Max Morale have increased by 5.

Hibachi     Merchant   1   10% discount/boost on market items.

Hibachi:  "Buy low, sell high, steal from others often."

Special Actions
1: Send Ruby out for gems.

Ruby: "...so I punch him in the face, toss him out of the blimp, then say 'No Ticket.'"

Ruby found $55 and 5 gems.  Ruby gained 80 xp.  Ruby leveled up!
Took a level in "Explorer"
HP +10, BAB +1, F +1, R +1, W +1, Glib Tongue

2: Massage!

Helepolis: "Just relax..."

Removed 15 stress!

3+4: Dance Party

Dnacer: "Let's see, dresses for everyone.  Easy access straps..."
Bartender: "Alright, now to break out the black lable...."
Butler: "Not a chance!"

The devils are all happy!  Morale rose by 10.  Apparently the dress they suggested was water soluble.  You gain 4 stress.  The party costs $222.  You gain one action!

5: Paperwork Streamlining

Elle: "I'll do my best!"
Cassia: "I think I'll only get in the way here."

Sadly Elle wasn't able to figure anything out.  You gain 0 stress.

6: Improve material efficiency

Apophis: "This looks difficult, but we can try while we wait for more wood."

Your crack team can't figure anything out without using magics that's beyond your current level.  Breakthroughs are difficult of course.

7: Have Farmgirl plant wheat.

Farmgirl: "Will this be beer or bread?"

You've planted wheat.  You can choose to get $20 next week, or $40 the week after.

Quote from: Fluff
Yuki frowned at the sudden hubbub at the front of the mansion.  Was it Thursday already?  Weird stuff always seemed to happen on Thursday.

Standing up she headed to the lobby, where she saw a group of devils standing around a green haired girl in something like a Shrine Maidens outfit.  Ruby was talking animatedly beside her.

The explorer demon looked over when Yuki entered the room.  "Ah! Miss Yuki!  I got the gems you wanted, and I found someone interesting."

The green haired girl bowed.  "Hello.  My name is Sanae Kochiya, a living goddess of the Moriya Shrine.  Your servant helped me retrieve some artifacts that had been lost during the war to thieves.  I wanted to come by and thank you personally for all the work she's done for our temple."

Yuki returned the bow.  This didn't seem too bad.  "It's a pleasure to have you over.  I'm afraid we don't have a guest room, but I can sleep in my study."

Sanae looked stricken.  "Oh no!  I couldn't throw you out of your study.  I'll sleep in the devils quarters."

Yuki blanched.  "Um, that's not..."

Sanae smiled sweetly.  "Oh I'm sure they won't try anything.  They all seem like such good girls.  Right?"

There was a chorus of agreement from the devils.  Much to Yuki's surprise it actually seemed genuine.  Yuki frowned at looked the girl over again.  "So... as a living goddess what is your power."

"The power to create miracles!" Sanae replied.

Yuki paused a moment to listen to the devils whispers.

"Nice dress.  Shows off her armpits..."
"...seems wrong to just jump her though.  We'll have to seduce her in a reserved fashion."
"...maybe if we set up a branch shrine here..."

Yuki winced.  It seemed that Sanae was safe, but Yuki's position as undisputed master was not.  Still there wasn't anything she could do now.  Maybe that power of miracles would work in her favor as much as it hurt her.

"Make yourself at home...."

Events:
Sanae visits your mansion.  Sanae increases your mana by 80 for a week!  Sanae steals 28 faith morale!

No devils are restless because of the party
From this weeks work you gained 3 stress

(Note: Multiple devil actions cost one action for each devil.  However devils will recruit others for minor assistance on their own.  Hibachi didn't buy wood because I need to know how much wood you want to buy.)

My recommendation for this weeks agenda:

> Build the Forest Portal
That should end our wood problem.

> Research Ironwood
I don't know, sounds useful.

> Naming Butler: Victorian
All butler have Victorian names.^^

> Alouette: enforce discipline
It is time for our CommissarMaid to restore the Morale.

Researching Ironwood is a must. Pour everything we have into it. Excess can go into Patchy research, or maybe the Artificer Forge if people like that better. Ironwood is Priority One, though.

Farmgirl's next on the naming list for being notably more useful than everyone else currently unnamed. Tentative suggestion is Heather because I am no good at cool fancy referential nicknames like the rest of you. If you want one that badly, uh, Sunstar.

I agree with naming the butler.  Don't care about what we name her.

Pour everything into Ironwood, and have the excess go to Patchy's thing.

While we're at it, I think we should build the Library as well to get more info for the future.

Lets get Ruby to grind levels again, and thankfully, we should be able to go without a massage this week.

It is very very temporary.  You actually lucked out with that due to the forest portals mana cost.
