Oh, by the way, it's possible she thinks this is a really vivid dream, hence why she's unconcerned with such morally base behavior. It's a long shot, but something to consider.

I still strongly suspect Koishi is involved in one way or another. I can think of at least a couple ways how.

>She sighs. "...Not really. I just want you to stop acting like I'm some horrible monster who's gonna bite you head off... I mean, I can understand maybe being a little put off, but to go so far as to act like I'm not even really me... What's gotten into you?"

> "Renko, I'm sorry, truly, I just don't want any fighting, I don't want to see you hurt... I'm sorry..." start crying, and mean it.

>You break down into tears. Damn it...
>She frowns and approaches you. "Don't worry about me, Mary. I'm a big girl, I'll handle myself." She puts an arm around you. "There there, just let it out, okay?"

>"Naw, that's not how danmaku and stuff work," says Renko, patting you on the back as you let the last of your tears out. "It'll be okay."

>You feel a bit better. Renko doesn't seem to give any indication of removing that arm, though.
>"I'm too deep into this to quit, even if I wanted to," says Renko.
>"From what I've picked up, no one's seen a real army, here." says Renko. "They've seen faerie swarms, but on their own, those aren't worth much. But the thing is, when you get them coordinated? They pretty much unstoppable. There's just a few of them, but there's hundreds of us. And, faeries get better when they're defeated anyways. It's not just numbers, Mary, it's planning. It's exploiting openings. Hell, a lucky faerie can take out the Hakurei Maiden. It's even happened before."

>"Normally, I'd agree with you," says Renko. "But there's a trick to it. A system of honor, kind of. Have they told you about how the duels work? About, how once you beat, no matter how much power you have left, that's it, you're done? All we have to do is win once. Especially against them, from what I hear. They care so much about their pride they wouldn't think about trying to break the system. And after that, no one cares. They don't have any real allies, because they're so isolated out here."
>She hug you close with her arm around your shoulder. "We're gonna do it, Mary. We're gonna make that mansion ours."

>"She helped me figure out how to fly and how danmaku works," says Renko. "And she's going to be backing us up when it's time to make the attack. She doesn't want me to say anything, though, because she doesn't know who's listening, and when. I think she's paranoid, but you never know, I guess."
