This is entirely correct. Rumia is your sole MAG attacker too.

Mystia's MCM is a far better sweeper in general because of non-element and delay compared to that other one that I hardly use (that's why I can't remember the name). In boss fights, if the boss can be hit by PAR, use her NTR sweep and hope it procs. The rest of the fight is just Dives until dead. Mystia's main stats should be Attack and Speed. She's not so glass cannon because her defences are better than Cirno's.

I believe the problem was people copying their ver2.04/6 SaveNaN file into ver 3. The problems with the cheat table can be fixed by adding 0001000 to the addresses.
How would I add 1000 if that digit is a letter?
Instructions please. =/

I've tried the Ver 2 bosses but I can't find them all and the Japanese Wiki isn't doing much help  :ohdear:
could someone advise me what to do?

Look harder.

EDIT: Easiest way is probably recruiting all the non-Plus Disk characters.

Cheating? I cannot even wrap my head around the point of it. Wouldn't you know you had cheated? How on Earth could you maintain crisp certainty of your superiority to all others? And if you're unable to do that, what's the point of anything?

Ver. 2 bosses is probably the way to go after that though, going into boss rush around 145-150 when it won't be very hard. IMO, at least.

Just had a thought. Who would make the ultimate 4 member team, able to clear all 30 floors with just the 4 of them? Discuss.
Here's my input. First you would need an excellent tank. I vote China because not only can she heal herself, she can cure a few crippling status effects.
You would also need a dedicated healer. I vote Reimu as she can heal the entire party, has a party wide DEF/MIND buff, and can cause PAR for clearing trash.
You would also need a damage dealer that also has good survivability. Pure glass cannons won't cut it for this team. Not sure who. Nitori maybe?
The last member could be a second tank, a pure supporter, or another damage dealer with good survivability.
Overall the whole team needs good survivability as they can't exactly switch for someone else. Oh and an ok focus recovery rate.

Discuss.

I may still be working on my first playthrough, but I don't see how you could effectively do this. Some bosses would simply run over you because you would not be able to do enough damage fast enough to beat them in the damage rush, effectively forcing you to overlevel to the point that the challenge loses some of its edge, so to speak. I think you could do the main game with only 4 characters with smart play and only a couple of extra levels, due to the lack of DEF/MND ignoring attacks. This is all in my opinion, though.

Other concerns:
Have to worry about resistances for EVERY party member. Would be hard to raise resistances much beyond normal playthrough levels because sharing SKP between 4 instead of 12 people is still less efficient due to the way the costs increase.
Best damage dealers are too fragile or have a glaring weakness that would be exploited.
Tougher damage dealers are too slow in output for the damage races.
Inability to Switch-nuke makes the races even harder.

Roadblock Bosses (off the top of my head, main game):
Flandre: Can you keep up with her damage output? Could you damage her before she killed you with Laevateinn?
Orin: Endurance. Can you keep up with the knights and her without getting worn out?
Yuugi: Would be able to OHKO everyone. No replacements would be killer.

These are just a few that come to mind here.
Still, would be interesting to try to see how far you can go. I know I've seen some people finish some absolutely ridiculous challenges in ADOM, for example (beating the game at LVL1, shield-throwing, eternium man... there are some crazy good people at that game)

If I HAD to try a team though, I'd definitely bring Reimu for group healing/buffing, and her PAR move to help make it through floors. You'd need two damage sources, one PHYS, one MAG...or a defenses ignoring attack. Perhaps Shikeiki? for Last Judgement + PAR for trash. Tanking... Meiling most likely, HP increasing like in Team Unappreciated for the defense ignoring boss attacks, and the extra healing + status healing for emergencies. 4th character is more difficult to decide.

Those are my thoughts on the matter.  :V

Pesco did a Team 9 game using Wriggle, Mystia, Cirno, and Rumia. IIRC he cleared all 30 floors as well, so it's more possible than you think.

Huh, really? I had assumed that when Team 9 was mentioned that he had 8 characters + Nine ball. Well, I'd definitely be interested in hearing how he got around some of the limitations I was thinking of. I wonder how wrong I am...  :derp:

EDIT: Ah, if he hacked his lvl-up speed that would be a way to get around the weaknesses of a 4-man team. I don't know about DDR, but my thoughts were more along the line of a team that was more or less around recommended levels, likely  consistently a certain % or amount higher than the consensus. With serious extra leveling, most of my concerns can be mitigated....

I think it was only 2x leveling rates. He also bumped up everyone's base TP to 20. Other than that I think that's the only things he edited.

4 man party

Personally I find Nitori to be a bit on the squishy side myself. But I don't think you really think that "the best" team to 4 man can't really be determined using conventional logic. Because by limiting yourself to 4 people only, you are REQUIRED to be over-level  in order to win, and if you're over level, the rules kind of change sometimes. For example, 16f might be a better tank than China if you're over level. If you can keep the 4 non tanks alive with Reimu's Aoe heals, then chances are an over-level tank wont need a self heal like china does in order to survive either. And yukari can do much more for the team as a whole with spiriting away most likely. I'm not saying Yukari is the best bet, but I'm just giving an example of how being over level can really change stuff.

Flandre

I actually find Flan to be pretty easy as far as damage bosses go. 16F hits harder faster, and has the same amount of health pretty much. her "big nuke" has a suprisingly bad formula (when you fight her as an enemy), and doesn't actually take a whole lot to hit for 0.

Btw I need more details on getting cheat engine to work with the special disk for when I get bored from grinding and I just want to f around for a bit.
What version do you need and does it work on the English or Japanese versions? I believe my English shows 3.01 and the Japanese shows 3.00.

Pesco keeps saying something about adding 10000 too all your addresses or something. I personally suggest you try playing around with using applocale, and not using it for Touhou labyrinth when you try the cheat editor. For me,  it doesn't work if I use applocale, and it does work if I don't (Though I prefer applocale on when I'm actually playing).

That really did not help. I don't even need applocale to play it and I don't have JP region settings on. I was asking does the table work on the English or Japanese version, and what version number is it for?

did you try it? I KNOW you're not having problems with getting the game to work, but I'm just saying I actually am unable to get the cheat engine to work unless I intentionally do NOT run Touhou labyrinth WITHOUT applocale, maybe you have the reverse, I dunno *shrugs*. I'm nots aying it will work for sure, but it's worth a shot, and by the sounds of it you didn't bother trying.

If you go to page 1 of this thread, you'll see two Cheat Engine table links. The "Cheat Table for Special Disc" version works for the English patched v3.01. I have no idea about the other one.

The way I like to do it is instead, to do a manual search for the Skill Point Pool (or something else easily searchable), then have the table recalculate all addresses based on the Skill Point address.

I believe the problem is that you're using Vista, and both myself, Ghaleon, and Pesco are using XP. On my laptop that runs Win7, I have to adjust the cheat table by CE3A8C0. If you want, I can walk you through the process of finding out what value Vista users have to use (if it's different than Win7 of course)

Re: Labyrinth of Touhou 5F

Both of you. How do I go about doing this?

Run Labyrith of Touhou, then load a save game. Double-click on the cheat table file (should be "Labyrinth of Touhou ver3 .CT"). In Cheat Engine select the Labyrith of Touhou process, and say "Yes" when it asks if you want to keep the address list. You should see a bunch of ?? or numbers that are obviously wrong for the various cheat values. Back in the game, go to the Magic Library and note your current skill point pool (I'll be using 15366 as an example, yours will be different). In CE type "15366" in the "Value" box, select "Exact Value" and "4 bytes" in the drop-down boxes, then press first scan. Ideally you should have only one result. Note the address of your result. Now, right-click on "skp pool" in the cheat list and select "Recalculate all addresses." Click the "Change to address" tab and type in the address of your result if it isn't already there. Click "Change" and now your values should be fine. Remember to save this fixed table so you don't have to do all of this again.

EDIT: If you more than one result from your scan, change the total Skill Points you have by spending some. Put your new amount of available skill points in the "Value" field of CE and press "Next Scan" (Not "New Scan", that will start everything over). Rinse and repeat until you have only one result.

EDIT2: If you could tell me the address of your single scan result that would be great. It'll save time the next Vista user has problems

Out of curiosity how would I use that Win7 offset? I know the order for hexidecimal is 0123456789ABCDEF but how do I add letters to numbers or vice-versa?

You should have got something back from the scan, so something must be wrong (do you have admin access?). You can right-click "skp pool" in the cheat list and select "Recalculate all addresses. Then just paste CE3A8C0 into the field and click change. CE3A8C0 was the difference on my machine but it could be something else on yours, so good luck. As for working with hex values, you can use windows calculator (switch to scientific view).

The SKP number never gives me anything either, so if I do something involving skillpoints, it's usually locking skill levels at 1 while counting how many levelups I put into it.

Apparently older versions of CE don't work well with LoT, so make sure your CE is at least version 5.6.1!

Team (9) of Wriggle, Mystia, Cirno and Rumia only. Levelup speed was 4x and initial TP adjusted to 18 (Mystia had 18 base anyway). It was very doable due to hurroverlevel and twinking out affinities early.

Should work now. I'm not happy about that Aya myself and I'm contemplating removing the wings entirely. I think Commandant Reisen turned out better than I expected, Cowgirl Tenshi too. The most work actually went into Mokou, although I hope it's not noticeable.
