The Official STGT Thread
« on: July 28, 2010, 07:59:04 PM »
Separating this from the STG megathread for the sake of organization-- please keep all non-STGT related discussion there and all STGT-related discussion here.

STGT is an annual event at Shmups forum where teams all go against each other in a large-scale scoring tournament. This year, I am organizing a team and would like anyone interested to join!

Here's the STGT thread at Shmups forum for more details.

The estimated starting date for the tournament is August 23rd.
According to what I know, the maximum number of people permitted on the team is 7, so get in before it's too late!

We're also accepting ideas for our team name, as well.

Current members:
Matsuri - Team Leader 8)
Sapz
Zengar
Bananamatic
Azinth
Krim
Zetzumarshen

More details will come as time goes on.

Update @ July 29, 1:56AM EST: Okay, we have 7 people on the team now. However, if you're interested in joining the team, fear not, you still have a chance! Declare a challenge to someone on the team here in this thread, and I'll name a game that you and the challenged person must play. You then have 48 hours to PM me your scores, and at the end of that time, whoever has submitted the highest score gets the spot on the team. You may only challenge someone once, and you may not challenge someone who has already been challenged-- unless you are one of the original 6 on the team, attempting to regain your spot, in which you have one chance to do so. Have fun! :3

Update @ August 2, 6:51PM EST: All right, team is set in stone and stuff. Registering soon. I need all team members to fill in this form, please:

Yeah, I'm in on this.

Team Mega Moe Fuwa Fuwa Lolimaidens I lack creativity so I'm not going to input on the team name.
Whether you're on Easy or you're a Lunatic, be damn proud of your accomplishments.  Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, for it's when you lose faith in your own achievements that those victories become defeats.

All right, Krim's definitely in :3

Also, the team name doesn't exactly have to have the word 'team' in it. :P

Hello there.

Sorry if I was interrupting, I was told by Matsuri to come into this thread if I want to sign for the team. I'll take up the bench if you all don't mind. Thanks before.

ops, looks like I came in too late. ;_;

Well, if someone ends up backing out or something, I'd be glad to join.  Either way, I will probably be participating whether I can join this team or not.

if there's enough people (10, to be more exact), then the forum can have secondary teams as well; since the member count per team has a limit of 5 minimum and 7 maximum, you guys could make another team, and still do well if there's at least 3 good scorers (while only the 3 best score submissions of a team count towards a team's ranking, the other score submissions from a team are still helpful in that they lower the amount of points -- based on each player's individual standing -- the other players below them would receive). However, it would be recommended that the best scorers are part of the same team..

Good luck to everyone!

Translations.
How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

Ahahahaha. You didn't think I'd just leave it at this, did you? Oh no no.

I had a feeling that we might have more than 6 people interested, so I decided that I'd add a little game of my own to this. Surprise! >:D

None of you guys on the team are safe at the moment! Not yet, that is. Since I want everyone to have a fair shot at having a spot on the team, I decided that we'll be having a little challenge system here. Want a spot on the team? Declare a challenge here in this thread, and I'll name a game that you and the challenged person must play. The benefit of the first come, first serve system is merely that you automatically get in if no one attempts to take your spot on the roster. I'll let this go on for a week or so, before I declare the team set in stone.

(really, I'm doing this not only so everyone interested gets a fair chance at being on the team, but because we still have a while before STGT and it'd be boring to just let the thread sit here until then-- not to mention, it'd be good practice for you guys, since I won't always be picking games you guys are familiar with. In STGT, you have a week to play a game, so if you're not familiar with it, you need to be able to adapt quickly and learn it!)

Azinth vs. Enigma

Actually, you never clarified. I decided to leave it as if you were in. But if you don't want to, Azinth automatically gets the spot.

Most of us hang out in #touhou-meido on DejaToons, but really, for such a small group, I don't think it's really necessary. It'd be more convenient for everyone involved to keep discussion in this thread.
