>You call out, but you're not sure she's listening to you. Another burst of yellow bullets fly out from the cloud in all directions, followed shortly by Mystia, scowling downwards at where she emerged from. She seems a little the worse for wear, but not terrible.

>She looks and you, then back at Rumia again, and then at the light beginning to grow over the horizon. It seems she hasn't made up her mind yet.

> Ponder how many people know of our status as a Stage 3 Boss and EX-Stage Mid-boss.

>You're not sure whether Mystia knows about your hakutaku form or not in this world. It's possible, but a moot point at the moment, sadly. If you were a hakutaku right now, this battle might already be over.

>If Mystia still wants to scrap, would it be possible to conjure up some more familiars for extra drama, or are we at the limit?

>You could possibly conjure a few more, but maintaining fire from that many would make it difficult to move at all.

>"A-apologize? What are you-" You seem to have taken her off-balance, a little, although she recovers her resentment quickly enough. "Why should I let you get off that easy? I'm lucky I didn't DIE because of you, you know! A little tea isn't going to make that all better!"

>She just keeps staring at you, scowling.
>"Quiz lady seems nicer now," Rumia adds helpfully. "She gave Rumia this neat pooky box, see?"
>"No, of course I don't see, you dunderhead," she snaps at her. "And you don't, either!"

>"Well, if they try to hurt you, just run. I'll find you later."

>"Sure, ok!"

>You continue along the river for a while, and the sun slowly makes its way over the horizon. It's actually a very picturesque dawn, despite everything. After some more time, the river widens, and the trees give way to grassland for a good several hundred feet away from the river. You can see some kappa dwellings in the distance, squat round buildings nestled close to the river.

> "Rumia... their may end up being someone their who looks a lot like me. She will probably have a "pooky box," the hat I gave you, so if you someone who looks like me, the one without the hat is one you've been with all this time, ok?"

>She seems a little confused by this, but after a moment smiles and nods, anyway. "Ok!"

> Hope that their is not another Keine at the new human settlemeant.

>Well, that could certainly complicate things...

>Frightened? No! Meeting OtherKeine would be great! Finally, someone to talk about the Meiji Restoration with! And maybe we can finally see what our back really looks like!

>Frightened? No! Meeting OtherKeine would be great! Finally, someone to talk about the Meiji Restoration with! And maybe we can finally see what our back really looks like!

>On the other hand, meeting one's self would be a pretty one-of-a-kind experience, too. You're not certain whether to hope or worry.

>Keep going! Look down below, are there any kappa around?

>You continue onwards. You can eventually see more kappa structures, further along the river, and clustered closer together around the base of the mountain. The place seems a little more developed than you remember. You don't see any kappa milling about, but there's a good chance most of them are probably just sleeping.
>The river branches near here, with the bulk of it descending from the mountain in a great cascade of waterfalls, and another major stream moving off to the west, through grassy flatlands. The tengu live further up the mountain, on a scattering of small plateaus that would seem inhospitable to most but them.

>Check around for more newish architecture, if the humans moved up here, they would have to had built homes, and they would be relatively new compared to everything else.

>Kappa architecture is pretty distinct in style compared to human architecture, unless the humans really did just move into the middle of kappa territory, but that seems unlikely, and more than enough to sour the deal for a lot of people. Youkai are still a pretty scary thing for most people. It's something of a marvel that they'd move this way at all. Kanako must have been awfully convincing. Of course, she probably had a desperate audience, too....

>However, looking more closely, to think you may see some more structures in the distance along the secondary branch of the river, to the west.

>....Was that branch there before?

>Yes, part of it curves off around the other side of the mountain. No one ever lived over this way, to your knowledge, though.

>Follow the western branch!

>You travel further down the river in that direction. After a while, it becomes clear that the houses hear at least resemble the ones in the old village, although there are some differences. And far fewer of them, for one thing.... The village also seems to be oddly bright, for this time of the day.

> Continue towards it, and hope for the best.

>You continue towards the settlement, keeping your metaphorical fingers crossed.
>The houses are laid out near the river, with farmland running along it. It is perhaps half the size of the old village, but this still accounts for a great many houses and other buildings. You can see a waterwheel of sorts, along the river. The architecture isn't quite the same as before, although it is in the same general style. Different building materials, perhaps? Actually, some of it looks like it may be better constructed.

>How is it bright?

>It just seems better lit than lanterns usually provide. It's not quite dawn yet, so that's still noticeable.
