Exactly. The AI is just too stupid to stream. That isn't a glitch despite what you want us to think. Now, that Medicine thing is definitely a glitch.

I'm still not going to use Aya or Medicine for my 1cc.


Got a few more 2DNB VoWG timeouts. Like usual almost all deaths were easily avoidable.

Aya wins because the programming can't handle it.  It's not a glitch, but it's a flagrant abuse of the game instead of actually having the skill to make your way through it.

Aya is cheap, yes. So is Sakuya A in PCB, border team in IN, Marisa A in LLS, and others that are to a lesser extent. Does that mean you completely discount those clears? It's not as though someone who picked up the game for the first time could 1cc lunatic with Aya.

You're comparing apples and oranges. You're comparing the characteristic trait of a Shot Type being intentionally made strong (Border Team, SA!ReimuA, et al.) to something that isn't intentional (Aya's LIGHTSPEED BAWLS ending matches in approximately half the time, Medi-chan's field of halp how do i dodged boolet). Also, do keep in mind that the AI doesn't know how to stream.

Also, SakuyaA?? Last I heard from various people, SakuyaA was terribad.

SakuyaA is the easiest shottype to 1cc with for a newbie.  The full-screen spread unfocused and full focus fire mean you don't have to learn anything but dodging (no movement patterns, no following the boss, etc.), and the four bombs per life are just lolwhat.

There is no consistency to how long the AI can survive as far as i know. But i was also more speaking about the gameplay itself. I lost a life to Komachi as she appeared on my screen at the same time as Lily White and literally filled the screen with so many bullets that death was pretty much unavoidable.

Oh really? I find the Netherworld Team absolutely terrible. The stages will suddenly start taking memorization because of unwieldy unfocused shot and a very weak focus shot makes bosses take a hundred years. But its mostly because of stages.

I want a shot that gives me able to move around the screen unfocused. Youmu just seems to fall apart if she isn't following a planned out route.

LLS Reimu is a balancer. Marisa A is cheap because her ludicrous amount of power kills most bosses before they even have a chance to be threatening.

It's even easier to collect the items at max value that way because the spread shot owns the entire screen from the bottom and Youmu is fast enough to rush up to the top of the screen to collect and get back down safely. Anything that's hard to collect with them would be hard to collect with the others. There's a reason they're the second best team for scoring.

Phantasm Romance really does thwart me at every turn. I decided to do one more run through after deleting the "setcontinueamountallowed" line from stage 6 to see if that removed the extra continue limit, and you know what happened? Do. You. Know. What. Happened?

I 1CC'D AND WENT TO EXTRA 4 ANYWAY.

Thankfully, for all the complaining it's taken to get there, extra 4 is a pretty cool stage. I made it all the way to Reimu and got to I think her fourth spell card. As expected, the game didn't let me continue. Putting a long extra stage at the end of a 30 minute game is just too much.

Youmu's movement speed is way faster than Reimu's so naturally Reimu will have an easier time going up the screen unfocused and weaving through the enemy bullets. With Youmu bodyslamming into a bullet is more likely.

It seems I am starting to warm up to PCB lunatic, what with never having played it on lunatic before and all that. After several tries that were quite fruitless, just now I had my first run where I got past Alice. I game over'd on midboss Youmu.

Now, here's the cruncher: I played comparatively really well throughtout the game, especially during the beginning. However, I died twice to Lily white.
Think that's bad? I died three times to Benevolent Orleans Dolls.

If it weren't for these, I might even have 1cc'd that thing, seeing as stage 6 is the only stage I have some experience with.  :colonveeplusalpha:

I am happy (kinda...) to say that I beat Perfect Cherry Blossom (but got the bad ending; too many moments of me thinking that I could deathbomb and missing the timing. Or slamming head-first into a fairy while grabbing a dropped power item. :| )!

Gonna try to get the good ending (1cc, right?) later today!

2cc IN Lunatic with Border Team. I can maybe do this if I can stop sucking at the stages. I still think that the Netherworld Team is just as good, though perhaps not better. Though it seems they have more potential than the Border.

I mean, for the Netherworld Team, you've got faster unfocused speed, the strongest unfocused shot, the second strongest bomb regardless of distance... Yuyuko's death butterflies kill virtually all stage enemies regardless of where you're at, giving you more freedom and damage output than Ran can.

Actually, thinking about it, Youmu is like a stronger, harder to control human Yukari, and Yuyuko is a weaker, though easier to use in stages, youkai Reimu (including a deathbomb that's twice as strong).

On the other hand, Border Team gives Reimu a stable power and an easily controllable speed. Her bomb doesn't suck, and her deathbomb is among the strongest. Yukari has amongst the most reliable focused shot that you can occasionally manipulate to kill stage enemies in multiple locations. And if you get hit and deathbomb... You get Reimu's fury. The smaller hitbox only really seems to matter in IN Extra at the deathfairy, and the not getting hit by familiars part is only applicable to Astronomical Entombing, Xu-Fu's Dimension, Shoot the Moon, so...
